Hi all,

So as title suggests, thinking of getting some 20's for my RS3. Love the standard wheels but they are the chrome 19's and i would prefer the black version of them.

Unfortunately, to get genuine black RS3 alloys seem to be either not available, or a fortune to buy.

So my thoughts are, if im gonna end up with aftermarket wheels, is it worth going up in size to feel the arches abit more.

For reference, our car is a 2019.

any input appreciated.

What makes you say that?? (Excuse my naivety)

I had 20’s on our last car (Q3) with low profile tyres with no issues.......

Q3 will always give a softer ride than RS3, just like 21”s are fine on Q5’s etc, but adaptive suspension helps a lot too.

Why mot go some really nice 19”s and re-use the tyres

Our car does have mag ride, so assume that would help??
As for getting 19’s, I’m not against it, just feel 20’s would look abit better.
Tyre wise, my plan was to either sell the current 19’s with tyres, but more likely put them to one side as a spare set.

We don’t have the best of roads really.
Coupled with hard suspension and 30 series tyres it’ll be a bone shaker.
A friend had 20’s on his 8V and after a month one was buckled and he couldn’t put up with the ride quality.

Agreed our roads are total spine breakers,my local council has decided to save money on repairing the huge number of potholes and spending it on building more speed humps ,if you want to fill the arches to the max ,19s + spacers + drop :thumbs up:

I fitted 20s to my 2019 rs3. I wanted the oem look and fitted alloys from a q5 in the same style, with 30 series tyres. The car was firm to being with, as it has fixed suspension. The wheels made a marginal difference. I would fit them again given the choice

Can you powder coat your current wheels? Mine came with the standard silver 19" rotors. Got audi to coat them gloss black.

Yes get a proper place to ease the diamond-cut edges and get them painted or powder coated the colour you want.

That is what I did

Can you drop the suspension with mag ride without affecting it?

What size tyres are you/were you running on these wheels??

No, but all you have to do is get the zero datum re-set on the mag ride to stop it fighting itself. Unless you drop too much and the dampers go out of range.

You can measure the values with VCDS but the zero reset needs to be done with VAS, so either dealership or good specialist
