Hi,

I`m thinking to swap my original 19" Audi A5 s-line alloys to the old style 19" ET33 Audi rotors. Im not a big fan of the new rotors style.
I like my wheels but I think rotors will make the car look more "bad ***"? But then I`m thinking if they will not make my car look older as its an older generation of alloys?
Also was thinking of the B8 RS4 style wheels.
I cant find any pictures of the new A5 model with old rotors so wanted to ask some opinion as to what you guys think?

My car with current wheels:

Only pictures I found was B9 A4 with both ET33 rotor and RS4 style alloys:

Rotor & RS4 look better than current, rotor wins but no it won't look older.

Personally, I’d keep what you have .. they look smart and modern with ibis body colour. .I find rotors look a bit naff, and prefer the spoke alloys. But it’s a real personal thing and neither right or wrong .. only you can decide what you like

Thanks guys.
I loved my alloys when I first bought the car, but then went to Audi service the other day and saw B8 A5 on deep concave rotors and I was impressed how nice the car looked. Then I saw A6 with rotors but with high ET number so the alloy looked more flat and I didn`t like the look at all.

So the only rotors I`m looking for at the moment are the wide 9J ones with 33ET which are not so easy to find at a decent price and condition...

Couldn`t find any pictures of B9 A5 with old rotors so learned last night how to photoshop.

Its not 100% accurate but gives me an idea of what it might look like.
Think I like it more than current wheels, what you guys think?

Rotors

Photoshoped RS grill which has been already ordered so this is my vision :friendly wink:

Probably you I've seen around Little Sutton/A41 area...don't see many A5 coupes around!

Are you going to extend your warranty? If you are don't let it run out, as if you do and then renew it's a lot more £££.

Too right all I see is Sportbacks around here no coupes... :) In general I dont think A5 is as popular as 4series and C-lass coupe I see a lot more of them. Seems like everyone has BMW these days.

I bought the car last year approved used and it came with the extended warranty already, but good to know as I`m planning to extend it when it will run out.

Found some pics of B9 A5 with old style rotors. Its not an s-line so the suspiension is not as low as on mine. I've ordered rotors should upload some pics this week.

Had the rotors on my first A5 and the Star Alloys on my 2nd. When I specked the 2nd one I really wanted to have the rotors again but they weren’t an option. When the car arrived I found I actually liked the star alloys, thought they looked a bit more modern and suited the new shape better. That said it’s all down to personal preference and so only you will know what you like the best and that’s all that matters.

On the positive side I found the rotors a lot easier to keep clean. Have you told your insurance company you’ve changed the wheels?

I know now I like the original alloys more... just like you said they are more modern. I think rotors fit older generation better. I`ve seen an old A7 today with rotors and it looked stunning, then I looked at mine and I was like nah...

That`s why I haven`t told my insurance company as I swapped the wheels back to the original already. But if I were to keep rotors I would probably give them a ring and asked. But on another hand rotors are OEM Audi wheels, same size as mine, they are similar price (used) and I would probably end up paying more for the insurance...

Another option could be to use them as a spare set for winter tyres ?

I think i prefer your new alloys to your old ones.

I was browsing Autotrader the other day, and noticed this car which I thought looked great - only realised after that it has some 20", obviously replica S5 style alloys. I like them, that extra inch makes a difference.

@Skipraider 20" wheels look much better. My dream but some decent alloys and tyres cost a fortune.
My nephew sent me a picture of an A5 coupe with nice 20" alloys on it a few months back, I tracked down the make of the alloys= £1,500 each without tyres!!!
