Hi All!!!
I hope someone can help me as I am now about £500 in with Audi who have still failed to be able to fix the problem.
I can even see and tell them where it is coming in through the petrol cap area and it runs down the side of the wheel arch inside the boot area which you can see through the service hole in the boot behind the back lights.
I think I have eliminated the overflow as i have bunged it off and it still comes through and only comes through when you pour water over petrol cap area whether it is open or not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel I'm going to have to sort it myself as I'm getting no where fast and its costing me over £150 per hour for nothing to be gained.
Thanks!!!

Check the drain pipe is allowing residual water to empty, tbh if its coming through the flap area, it can only be a few things, check this video to see how unit goes in, check seals are pushed home.

Thanks for the info. I can't see how it can be getting through it though unless it is the seal around where the petrol tank filler is. I also noticed the design was different on the new one so might be a common problem.

maybe it’s had a replacement solenoid in the past and the flap wasn’t fitted right. Think they are only meant to one use only and needs replaced once it’s been taken out. Newer flap looks different cause that’s where the adblue filler would be if the car has adblue.
Other thing to check is there’s a flap somewhere in the rear that kinda equalises pressure when you close doors and boot. If that’s stuck it could get water in.

Thanks for your help. I have finally worked out that it only leaks in when it is parked on an incline as it must be enough to allow the water that gets through to run back and drip on the wheel arch which then runs back in to the boot.
I have also managed to find the drip with an inspection camera inside so I can pin point exactly when it starts dripping and found that it is leaking around the petrol cap surround where the small rubber seal meets the body work at the bottom.
Can't believe the fix is going to be some silicone seal or park the car the opposite way. :wtf:

Hi there was this definitely the point of the leak. I have something very similar on my Audi A4 B8. And cannot find the point of where the leak is coming from. Does the videos below look like what you had? Thanks
