As per this thread..... https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/gutted-just-crashed-my-s3-in-the-snow.423403/

I revisited the car yesterday and the damage doesn't look as bad as I thought actually. Definitely repairable.

The insurance company say their approved repairers are L&I Eton who are either in Carlisle or Manchester, a very long way for me to go to assess the quality of the repairs and sign off the work before collecting the car.

Do I lose a lot of benefits if I choose a different repairer, as the insurance company appear to imply this in the wording in their messages and webpages.

I am considering HB Panelcraft Ltd who are Audi approved and much nearer.

Can anyone please offer advice on that?

If you want the car repaired locally then you are within your rights to have it repaired at a garage of your choice. Don't let them fob you off.

The only thing you *may* lose is a courtesy car other than that it is totally your right to choose a different repair shop that is insurance approved, however your insurers may challenge their pricing for the job.

Done exactly that this morning, spoken to Preston garage who regularly deal with insurance claims and they seem great so far, recovery firm will delivery to the Preston garage.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your accident and hope you are ok.

Definitely use an approved repairer as it’s your choice where the car is repaired regardless of what the insurance company advisor says. As said before you may not get a courtesy car, but one thought is to go via Audi Ensurance that comes free for three years with the car - you have to sign up for this, but it’s free. They then sort out repairs at Audi approved repairer and arrange a courtesy car.
