Hello, this is my 1st post.
I have an Audi A4 2.o tdi 2010 with 160,000 miles.
Just had a call from the garage (not a main dealer} who has looked after the car since it came out of warranty
to tell me he can't resolve the problem.
The problem: When the light comes on the car has no guts, its not limp mode but there's no power.
In the beginning switching the ignition off and restarting cleared the fault but now it doesn't clear.
Fault code says 'High pressure in fuel system' the garage has changed the fuel pressure regulating valve and
other sensors which are relevant including a new fuel filter but no joy.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
If I take the car to the dealership, new injectors and or new high pressure fuel pump will be the order of the day gulp, how much for that lot.
Hoping you guys can throw some light on my problem. Thanks.

The fuel regulator valve was Bosch. The fuel filter was aftermarket. other items were checked/tested but not replaced.

Was the old fuel regulator Bosch as well?

Post a vcds scan on here, and it may help others diagnose the issue.

My guess at this stage is some sensor is telling the ECU to limit the power.

Yes the old valve was Bosch. Your comment is the conclusion of the garage, they suggest sending the ECU to be checked by a specialist company. I wanted to check with you guys if anyone had seen this problem before I went down that route. Thanks for your input.

Post a vcds scan on here, otherwise everyone will just be guessing.
I would say it is not the ECU, but one or more of the sensors.

I only have a OBD 2 diagnostic unit.
I've been thinking about the injectors but if they had some sort of blockage I don't think the problem would be intermittent.
When the lights not on she drives great. At the moment the lights on more than its off.

An intermittent blockage in the fuel system may cause that problem.
I believe these systems can suffer from metal particles in the system.
