Hi,

getting the infamous screen on for a few seconds before going off issue on my 2006 Q7. Done the VCDS MOST test and it looks like there's an issue with my control head. However I am unsure of a few things:

  1. Where is the control head?
  2. Would a faulty control panel (bit by the gear stick) cause issues? I was told it's not on the MOST circuit so won't
need to work out where to spend the money - the control head? In which case I need to find out where my old one is! Or I can get a replacement PCB for the control panel from eBay for £50

thanks

Keep all to one thread as it helps everyone.

Yes a faulty control panel can cause issues like this too as had a client whose did the same.

thanks mate - might just cough up the £50 for the control panel and see what happens. Nothing looks spilt on the board so unsure why it'd go tits up out the blue. Plus when I do the three button reset it does work.

You reckon I should still replace it?

thanks

Hi guys, I am having the same issue with my a5. Audi replaced the the control panel but still have the issue. Going to look at the control head next.
Did you manage to fix the issue?
