Hi all,

Another day...or minute in this case and another query!
Specifically for the SQ5 - and again I am used to only TDIs so this might be a characteristic of petrol cars...

I have noticed mine turns over a few times before starting - does yours too?
Easiest comparison is probably a few youtube links:

More like mine:
(401) Cold start on 2020 audi sq5 stock exhaust - YouTube
(401) 2018 SQ5 COLD START UP - YouTube

Compared to a slightly quicker start:
(401) 2020 Audi SQ5 Exhaust Cold Start and Revs, (Pops and Crackles!) Sound - YouTube
(401) Audi SQ5 3.0TFSI 354PS|start up|revs| sound| rear lights| walkaround - YouTube

Normal?

Thanks!

IMMEDIATE! Whatever the weather and/or wherever it's sat overnight

GO 2016 SQ5 TDi :thumbs up:

I reckon my petrol SQ5 turned over a bit, and my RS4 doesnt fire immediately either, nothing to worry about I dont think. No glow plugs here to help so might take a bit longer...

Thanks both
It's going in tomorrow to have the dead air con looked at so I'll raise this in conversation either way
Just odd in those videos above it's literally a 50/50 of an immediate start or a turnover/2 extra. There was another in snow that sounded immediate too

Did they change anything or put your mind at rest? I would let you know how my RS4 is but havent started it since the last post #expensiveornament

Thanks for chasing - forgot to update this one and I know the feeling!

Only that nothings wrong - They did a full health-check, and obviously the easy bits too like fault codes etc
As long as it starts its fine - when its been off for a number of days, I do think it takes maybe even an additional churn but that might be in my head - will monitor

Good to have it checked and be told all ok. I'll try to remember to take note starting the RS4 when it finally gets moved later this week...

Slight deviation from the OP but on the second video at 15 seconds, I’ve always wondered what that weird air compressor sound is. Mine does the same.

I don’t have air suspension so it wasn’t that even though I was bored enough to sit and check the height as I opened the door a few times
