Not sure if I should post it here or in the detailing chat. But anyway.

I drove to Poland recently, and I remembered one beatiful (there are many) thing about my homeland.

The car wash.

Now, let me explain. Because what I classify as a car wash does not exist in the whole of England and I want to be proven wrong. But after searching and driving around the Manchester area for over a year I've yet to find one.

So, what do I classify as a car wash?

This, a shielded bay, and actual touchless design. The hoses being on a ceiling swivel as to not repeatedly smack your car with a vibrating hose.

Now, as far as I know this kind of a wash experience doesn't exist in England, these drive in, wash it yourself car washes are everywhere in Poland, and most of them are really good, there are different hoses with different settings and even drying facilities so there are no watermarks.

The closest you get in England are car washes on petrol stations. But all of the ones I've been to are placed like its an afterthought, or they involve scrubbing your paint with a ******* broom to apply foam (who thought this was a brilliant idea)

The most prevelent car washes are those where 10 guys rush onto your car and clean it like they are trying for a world record. I absolutely hate these, because these people get paid to wash a car by quantity, not quality, resulting in a **** wash at best, and scratched paint at worst because 2 or 3 guys are wearing a jacket with metal zips and rubbing up against the paint.

And then you have drive in automated washes, which I don't trust.

So the question is, is there a car wash on this island where I can get a simple wash as is shown in the above picture? without using a ******* broom? without it being placed awkwardly? and without the hose being mounted on the floor so you're dragging it all over your car?

Thank you.

This is the norm in Germany where you can find even better setups.

Maybe after Brexit when we run out of cheap labour innovative car washes will make their way through.

There's one but not quite like that in Kent.
But because in the UK you can wash your car at home etc its less common.
People use local car wash or hire detailers more often do it yourself at home.

In Germany, you cant wash your car at home so public washes are more common.

I think I'm correct but I could be wrong.
Coop do some car bay washes but as I said not as fancy as the polish bay ones!

Indeed. In Germany you’re not allowed to wash cars at home.
