It was £40,450 or something when I ordered and the tax alone is £550 so I should be under. If they put it through at the new price then I would argue that is for the dealership to pay any extra as a result.

Does your cars wing mirrors fold in when locked? Seems strange not to have it on such an expensive car!

How do you find the 40 TFSI performance wise?

I'm considering swapping my 190PS TDI in for a car similar to yours but wondering what they're like performance wise.

Will I miss the torque?

I’ve not driven the diesel but personally I would say the 204 TFSI pulls really well for both standing start and overtaking from 60+.

Oh believe me, you will definitely miss the torque...and the full economy of the 190 TDI as well. Having only ever owned diesels in my life, I finally bought my first ever petrol engine car in 2018 - it was an A4 Avant 2.0 TFSI 190 PS. Lovely car but i never managed to get more than 33-35 MPG and it felt massively slower than my 2007 A4 B7 2.0 TDI (188 PS). Sold it just a few months later and bought an A6 C8 40 TDI Quattro (204 PS) instead in 2020. The 40 TDI engine is in a totally different league to the 40 TFSI.

Don't do it, you will totally regret it!

Looking at a lease.

3 year 40TFSI is the same price as the 4 year 40TDI quattro, both black editions with C+S.

Go for the 40 TDI Quattro. You'll be surprised how quiet and refined the 40 TDI engine is, hardly any different to the petrol. Seriously.

Are you sure? Done my own homework very recently, and there was always a lump of money between them on the monthlies.....considering the price is about 3k apart and the %GFV are basically the same.
 
Same monthly cost I mean.

Obviously it's more money overall as it's a year longer.
