Vehicle electronics fault. Shift to P before leaving vehicle
PLEASE CONTACT workshop

Got this twice, comes on both times for about 2-3 seconds, goes off..... Just as im driving off.
Plugged in vcds.... No fault codes.
Anyone any idea?

Most likely an issue with the park position solenoid. Basically a film over time can cover the micro switch and it doesn’t detect what position the switch is in. Common issue within the DSG boxes. Had the same issue on my car and vcds picked it up and it’s currently at Audi to be repaired under warranty.
If it’s under warranty take it to Audi. Or else be prepared to fork out anywhere between £500-1k to get it sorted.

Gone ok after a battery charge, i was told by a specialist that a loe battery can do that, funnily my battery was flat a couple of days before, so i fully charged it, and hasn't seen the fault again.

vcds never picked up any fault with mine........let me know exactly what audi replace/fix please .........save a lot of us some money in the future. ask them some questions like ....can the switch be cleaned? can the switch be replaced etc..........should tell you on the invoice you get from audi.......at least your invoice will say £0.00 lol...........due to warranty.
thanks.

I had the same warning which cleared itself but still logged an error within Vcds. I think depending on the exact type of selector you have the switch can be replaced or the whole shifter has to be replaced. Got an estimate of £415, but some have for a cost upto £1k to sort this out but luckily warranty have accepted it and will get sorted out at no charge.
If you are outside of warranty I would wait until it happens again and take a picture of the error on the dashboard and get a VCDS scan to find the exact problem.

THANKS!
Had error twice, then i was asked is the battery good?
No i said, i went totally flat two days before the code, as my lad was listening to music and drained it + the previous owner hardly drove it, so i fully charged it, and drove it all day yesterday with no issues, i did give it a scan as soon as the fault happened but vcds showed nothing...... Hopefully i don't see any fault again.
No warranty mate, cars 2015 with 30k

Let me know what you're invoice says exactly.... Thanks
