Decided to fit a set of Eibach lowering springs I've had in the garage for a year!

The car is a 2017 BiTDI Avant.

Just checking if anything else is needed (precautionary or preferred) so I can acquire before the appointment to save on delays when the car is in?

Thanks.

Warn the garage about removing the ‘bitch bolt’ that holds the two upper arms to the strut......New bolt is approx £8 per side and will most likely need replacing as I doubt they will come out in one piece........

Read my thread about the issues I had with those little sods!!!

My Invoice from York Audi in 2017 for the bolts you need has the code:-

UWHT 007 963

Nuts:-

UN 102 723 02

The bolts have been redesigned from those originally fitted to my car in 2011. The new design has a thinner diameter in the middle section away from the 2 pinch areas. Your vehicle from 2017 may already have these fitted, but do get new ones in any case.

When I had my coilovers fitted on my 2015 Avant the garage had no issues with the pinch bolt but my car had only done about 19k.

Thanks for the part codes. Let’s see who’s open

The garage is not a VAG specialist but suspension work is a regular undertaking, and they’re confident they’ll not have any issues. That said, never say never.....

Drop wise it’s 15mm so not big but the standard springs have a little too much give and roll for my liking so want to improve the handling and get it feeling tighter more than anything else.

Mileage is 57k so hoping there isn’t too much drama under the arches

I’ll post before and after but they’ll probably take at least a month to settle.

I needed some parts for my car just over a week ago. The website for my local Audi dealer said parts department closed until further notice, so I e-mailed to ask when they would be open. Official reply was 1st June, but if I returned e-mail with parts list they would order and have ready to collect on 1st June. I e-mailed the list of parts with numbers from this site's Parts Database. Got a reply to say the parts could be ordered and as I had done some of the work for them I could collect when they arrived. Picked them up late last week. Excellent service.

that's good to know as I need to have one of mine repaired as at somepoint the previous owner has chipped one and water has got under the lacquer

They were fitted yesterday. Extremely pleased with the result!

Ride is significantly improved with better damping, it's smoother and there's a lot less body roll. The drop whilst not a lot on paper is perfect.

I'll get some pics up shortly.

Hi OP, interested to see comparison pics! Can you give a rough guide on what you were charged to get these fitted, considering getting some on my A7. Thanks!

5-6 hours labour, so whatever your garage charges - assuming nothing has ceased or broken during the strip down, plus alignment.
Between £250-£400 is about right.

Thank you! Looks awesome, how is she handling after the work? Enjoy!

Thanks! I do have spacers fitted - 15mm front, 20mm rear.
I was just about to ask if it had spacers as sits lovely. I should get the springs for .ine next week. I'll fit them myself tho, like I did on my old A5 3.0tdi quattro. Ive been looking at those Maxton Design chin spoilers too, are they worth the money and quality good?

Maxton is good quality and seem to have lasted well considering a few close encounters with speed bumps and crazy kerbs. Recommended.

I had all pinch bolts replaced as a precaution as they tend to perish and can snap off but that was it.
