Hi All

i have a 66 plate FL A3 which came with apple car play, which has worked faultlessly since i bout the car 3yrs ago up until the last 6months. The issues started when I upgraded my iPhone from the iPhone 8 to the 11 pro max. At random times when my phone is connected to CarPlay i will get loads of white noise and interference over the speakers, if i mute the music wait a couple of seconds and then un mute the nosie goes away but it will then come back sometimes 10mins later sometimes not for the rest of the journey. It still works faultlessly with my iPhone 8 (wife now has it) so I suspected an issue with the new phone.

done everything Apple suggested and when that didn’t sort the problem the gave me a new phone. I have also changed the cable both new and old cable were genuine apple Cables but it still does it. So starting to look at weather this could be an issue with the software on my car not being upto date.

Does anyone know of or themselves had issues as described above and any suggestions in what it could be would be great.

I have a 66plate early build (Sept. 16) FaceLift car with MMI High and B&O and an iPhone 11 Pro MAX and have had none of the problems you describe with both original and copy iPhone cables

I will have a loom and see compare software type to yours.

i don’t have the B&O sound system. But as i say never had issues with previous iPhones at all, just the latest one.

See if there is a firmware update for the MMI, @DJAlix will be able to update your firmware for you

Software version: 0148
Telephone driver: 10.446.287

these are the main differences, tried to do the online update it starts searching for data then generates an error and cancels

i have just got a 2018 cabriolet with tech pack and sound and comfort pack , carplay is no problem android auto i can't get to play tried on 2 different phones, tried updating maps come back with data error , tried on my audi and that says its not available hoping to bring it to you soon ,so wonder when trying to update there is a problem with audi servers.

The car has been serviced by Audi the last three years running so I assumed they would automatically update this like all other car manufacturers do?

No they don't. Sadly.

You have Audi Connect ? Does your data sim have enough data?

Firmware is your first point of call imo, which Alix can sort for you.

i am not sure if i do but when i go to the system maintenance menu, it gives you the option to update system, when i clicked on this it asked me to login which i did, i selected online update. It then starts searching for update data but then comes up with error. Not sure if i am doing something wrong or if i am connected correctly. Way above my understanding.

On the MIB unit in the glovebox, if you have Audi Connect you'll have a SIM card slot between the two SD cards. If you do, buy a prepaid mobile data sim card, activate it, and pop it in.

If you don't, then you can't use any online features.

i have checked and i do have a slot for a sim card i. The glove box in between the two Sd card slots. Can i buy a standard sim card or does it have to be a specific type from audi?

Three mobile data sims work great, activate first before putting it in
