We all know the horrible torque issue with the 50 tdi from Audi. It is dangerous on entering a roundabout and exiting a junction.

Luckily I have received a call from Audi to bring the car to the dealership for a software update, that will resolves this issue.

I can't wait to update you guys with the outcome of the update. The car is delivered to the dealership (this morning). Will collect it later tonight.

Fingers crossed.

Workshop action 23CK- software update for drive electronics.
Carried out workshop action 55K6- servicing rear lid drive (I don't know what that is)

The car now drives a lot better. It changes gears significantly faster.
I will have a long drive from Manchester to Cardiff this Saturday, will update further.

I had a short drive today, and I can confirm that the improvement is huge. It responds a lot quicker and smoother on the pickup and gear change. Now I enjoy driving the car.
Will update more with different driving and gearbox modes this weekend.

Had a long drive (400miles ) today. The sport mode of the gearbox does change to next gear too soon to my liking. There is no big difference between the D and the S. The software update made the car acceptable, but nowhere near my previous Jaguar XJ 3.0 diesel 2016. Thinking that with the price I paid I could have bought a nice I-Pace with instant torque and responsiveness gets me to really regret buying the Audi. The fact that they sold the car in this state, and then come up with an update more than a year later tells me that they don't care about their customers.
I will keep the car for another year so that my loss will be acceptable.

I love the tech, but other than the (unaffordable to me) RS7 I’m not a fan of the engine options, and putting a diesel into the S7 (when ROW got a tuned 3.0 petrol) has really dampened the whole Audi brand for me.

I’ve had my S7 for a year longer than I would normally keep a car, and just love everything about it. Don’t know what to replace it with for now :racer:

RAF_S7, I have driven an S7 a few years back as a test drive and it was a beautiful experience. Tech doesn't matter much, it is how the car drives and makes you feel. Enjoy your car, it is better than the new one.

Had a call from Audi this week regarding recall for ECU and MMI updates. Mine is now booked in for 5th of November.

Really hoping this update improves the responsiveness of the gearbox/throttle.

Mines been in the Audi garage for over a week and they've completely cocked up the update.

Waiting for them to figure out how to reflash the car to factory settings and start again

Oh wow thats sounds an almighty cockup!

****** hope they don't screw mine up.

Had mine done yesterday. Noticed an immediate difference almost straight away. Power delivery is much smoother and more responsive. Pleased with the update.

Anyone know if this update is for the 55 petrol engine as well?

Ok, I've just been speaking about the gear/acceleration delay on a thread of mine regarding the delay coming to a roundabout, junction

https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threa...-bitdi-3-0-tdi-tiptronic.422702/#post-3640421

So am I right Audi have called people who have their Audi A7 BiTDi 3.0 updated, and its improved the delay response?

Another question would be, why has it taken this long to update the software? We are thinking buying another A7 but when the other half tested the car she said she was not impressed, it felt when you put the foot down there was no power at roundabouts/Junctions then boom, she also said our Q5 was more smoother.

This thread is giving me a bit more confidence, thank you @A7Vorsprung

Although I don't think the dealership would send the car to check what the firmware it was on just to get a sale though.
