Just noticed my rear brake pads are quite thin, perhaps 3-4 mm left on them. At what point does the brake wear indicator kick in? Can't ever remember previous cars getting as low without prior warning

Think my rears were just over 3mm when the warnings kicked in intermittently. This was about 42 000 miles.

Do the rears have wear indicators? They don't on the B8.5.

The rears on my 2015 B9 have wear indicators and they did work although the system doesn't say whether it is F or R that needs replacing!

I would just change them. I do that on mine. Don’t wait until it hits the bottom. Saves you on the £ wear indicator.
