Hello everyone.
Im new here and hopefully picking up a new A3 next week and looking forward to many happy miles. My first (of probably many questions to come) is should I expect any freebies from Audi with the new car or have those days long gone? When ordering, I wasn’t even offered a drink for the 3hrs I was there so is there much point asking for a cleaning pack/mug or even a pen?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Neil. Welcome to Audi-sport.net. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. :)

I asked when I went in the other day but they said no but I’m just wondering if I should push it and what kind of things others have managed to bag.

Make sure it has mats! And if it doesnt don’t sign the dotted line. Set of genuine mats is not cheap

Welcome to the forums mate :)

With my S3 I got the Audi mug, ashtray/coin holder and connection for my phone. With the A5 I got the connection for my phone...so I was glad I kept the ashtray/coin holder :) Ohh mats on both, also free top up oil on both.

Ashtray LOL so 80's
I would 100% get mats, I would tell them no deal with no mats at least, or a free years service ect.
They are not going to lose a sale for something that probably costs them £10.00 to mass produce.

I got an audi hat, it's cool as a hat can be and they charge £28 for it so not the worst. My mate was with me who has an RS3 so I managed to get him one as well much to the disgust of the sales manager.

I got a tank of fuel, mats, cargo net for boot, a lightning cable for car kit and an ice scraper (I think the ice scraper was because I’d banged on and on about the Mrs having a heated windscreen on her Corsa and yet it wasn’t even available as an option for me)

freebies, flowers are things of the past especially if you get a respectable discount ....you should have sorted such things out before the deal was finalised

Mate just collected a new SQ5. He got roof bars and bag, full set or rubber mats and a full tank. All this on top of a £10K discount. It sounds as if it's all down to luck.

I got a cheap golf umbrella, an Audi mug, winter mats, OEM mats and a tank of fuel.....did not have to ask. I also got rid of the cheap summer OEM mats, within a week, for a nice set of Lloyd Berber mats

As Jassy says, the time to negotiate freebies is before you sign, not when you collect.

Our dealership don't even offer a complementary wash with a service now and demand £30 for a loan car that they never charged for before. I did get a free long stand when the service receptionist faffed about "completing the paperwork" (all to be emailed instead of handed over anyway), sending me more emails of pictures of my tyres with 3.2mm tread, then sanitising the contact points around my car before handing the key back.
The days of free courtesy cars, the offer of coffee from the receptionist whenever you walked in, help yourself to the well stocked drinks fridge and fresh cream cakes all mostly long gone well before Covid.

Your sales executive will still expect you to be "extremely happy" with the level of Audi customer service so he/she doesn't get a rogering.

Most freebies come out either the profit margin of the specific model purchased or off the salespersons commission .....ergo A new A3....profit margins for dealerships from Audi wont be that high.....Run out models yes,in general Highly specced cars yes....as Audi makes more profit off options than they do the actual car etc etc its all relevant

When they're mugging you off with finance deals that earn a good wedge of commission, you'd think they'd throw in a brolly!

Always take mine from car to car as they charge about £50 for it and handy for putting garage door remote in and trolley coins

Likewise. There was one in my first A3 and I bought a second one. They were extra when I bought the S3 so I took them out my old car. The lids touch but they just fit side by side in the cup holders. Nice little rubbish bin and coin storage. I also have a tray in the centre console, but the Chinese supplied that.

Taking it to this place, they get good reviews online https://www.carclinicmotcentre.co.uk/

Oh very posh!. A car's version of a health spa. lol :icon thumright:
Took it in today, car passed so all done until 19th october 2021 :) The guy that did it sid "It looks like it's just rolled off the production line"

Also had a letter today from Audi saying full payment required on 19th Oct as normal dd date, or if I pay it now I can save £20 :p Thinking I may just let it come out as normal, at least then I don't have the worry of paying it off now and then finding out they have messed up and they take it again on the 19th!!! Email about the warranty as well, £297 all components covered.

That's great news mate.. £297 for the warranty isn't bad. Worth it for peace of mind.

So what you going to spend your £20 on???? Lol

I'm not mate, for the sake of £20 I'm just going to let it run all the way to the end, once they take my next/final/total payment it will close the account automatically. You know what they are like, I pay today and then they mess up forget to update/close the account and then they take the lump sum again!!! £20 removes the human error side! ;)

Yeah £297 for 12 months piece of mind is worth it. That gearbox is my main concern as I do loads of short stop start journeys, so it's always changing gear! If it goes bang it's £10k....I see it as £297 is far less than what I've been paying a month whilst it's been on a pcp, so I'll save more than that in the 1st month of full ownership. The problem is I'm now thinking what I can spend that monthly saving on lol....maybe try a bit of that shooting malarkey!?!?

Now I have even more cash due to no pcp I'm looing for the next fix..:scared2:

lol that's how I got the S3, paid the mortgage off, saved for a couple of years and then bought a new kitchen, bathroom, drive, log burner and thought "Hmmm I can afford a posh car now everything's done" :) I'm 50 next year and there's talk about a package coming out at our place in January, I'm thinking of taking the money and using it as a wage from 50-55 and then drawing my private pension at 55! I'd be down on a weekly wage, but I could get an easy job for 2-3 days a week to boot it up a bit. Quality of life over money in the bank!
