Went into Farnborough Audi (big mistake!) for MOT/Service. They advised low battery on key fob. Strange as battery recently changed in this fob and worked perfectly for a few weeks after. There were no issues or errors before it went to garage. We always replace batteries ourselves, have large supply and done many times. Following morning after service, key fob is dead and new battery is not working. Replacement battery tested in another key fob for another Audi and works fine. Spare key fob for this car also works fine so issue with single key fob.
Guessing key fob has lost encoding. Has this got to be done at Audi or can 3rd parties do this?
What sort of cost should I expect to pay?
Farnborough Service attitude absolutely appalling. Blame customer and monetise issue they probably caused so would much rather take elsewhere for professional work and customer service! Wanted to charge £60 just for diagnosing problem.
