Red and black pack with RS4 alloys is really suiting the new car :icon thumright:

That front grill still looks massive though

Exterior looks nice but I really dislike the new interiors and some of the 'nanny' safety features that detract from 'driving' enjoyment.
The tech screen navigation is a real backward step IMHO. I love my iPhone touch screen but in a car find the MMI know far more acceptable and intuitive. The screens also tend to attract static and as a result get messy. I'm basing than after 4 sad months in a Q3 45 Sportback Vorsprung. Hated the lane assist and adaptive cruise control. What I think is sad is that these new interiors do not exude quality and the ability to 'fall in love' with the car. At least it's not a low rent M-B though eh @Snake Pliskin ;-)

lol .... Merc have massively upped their game. I've had Audi's for 12 years and I can assure you the A Class feels very premium and high end. The new A3 looks a mish mash by comparison (in the cabin) whereas the Merc is perfectly balanced and slick. Merc never used to do anything for me but they (and BMW) are really giving Audi some serious competition now, at a time when Audi appear to have got a touch lazy / complacent.

I do think Audi have lost their way on the dashboard in the new A3 and Q3. The Merc may feel 'premium and high end' but it just looks so awful, bit like some of those Honda thingies that appear to have been designed by a group of year 6 kids with totally contradictory styling and weird angles everywhere.

If you want conservative bland looks you keep your audi blinkers on lol :tearsofjoy:

This is what reminds me of A35 styling.. Sticking with bland! (or is it good taste)

My point @Snake Pliskin is that the styling of both looks totally disjointed ( hence year 6 kids comment) and the interior styling in both is to my eyes not at all tasteful. I do agree the MB is slightly more subtle but not for me thanks. Quite surprised you like it after an RS3 but we are in a world where people will vehamently defend their choices having made them.

just slightly more subtle ... come on, whether you like or don't like the Merc, it is WAAAAAAAY more subtle than the Civic !

I aint defending the Merc either just stating the facts ... Audi's are good and I'm sure I will have another at some point, BUT Merc have seriously upped their game and matched if not surpassed Audi with the A class. The new Audi 3 WILL be a great car, but it hasn't pushed boundaries or moved the game on much whereas the Merc A really has.

You are certainly in the minority though as many people have commented disappointment at the new Audi 3 not moving the game on from the superb 8v facelift.

I didn't say I was a fan of the new A3 did I??? Get a grip. The new A3 has a poor dash, almost as naff as the MB one and the materials feel less tactile than the 8V. Managed to jump out of a crap Q3 after 4 months without financial loss and I doubt I will change the RS4 for a while now as it's being used more. Targa 4S on order for a bit of fun along with 2009 TT and 1972 MG Midget.

Why do you insist on keep telling the world what cars you’ve had / currently own / are about to buy.

All you seem to do is constantly antagonise people especially if they decide to buy or consider buying a marque that you hate.

Please stop stalking my posts. If you have a problem PM. @Snake Pliskin and I have been ‘friends’ on here for years, are you harassing him too. Just try to behave nicely.

I like this full on frontal view of the S3 Saloon, but its the same car thats been posted everywhere for 6 weeks or more...has Audi only built one Edition 1 S3 Saloon....?as for them alloys they"re ok just???
Audi seem to be **** arsing about bringing out other model variants

Front looks good, do think it would have been better if they continued the body colour under the grill, then the black lip.

It is strange that Audi have been so slow getting the new A3 out especially when you can already buy competitors.

Agree about the front styling, not sure about the black but will probably look ok when number plate is affixed.

Whilst the exterior looks more interesting, although too many shiny black trim for my liking, the interior is a complete dogs dinner and totally embarrassing for an Audi. They do appear have taken a East Asian influence route...

I agree completely! The interior and dubious technology is a big turn off!

I can only assume the Covid situation has something to do with the slow roll out of the new model? Haven't followed other manufacturers regarding new models being launched. Can imagine others have the same issues.

It absolutely is. Sold our S3 in February to get a better price pre availability of new model hence the soiree with Q3. Being told now there is limited availability of S3 until next year. The economic situation is pretty dire currently and Tariffs on imports from 1 January will make Audi and other EU brands very much more expensive. Good time to sell nearly new low mileage cars.. but only if you can get a new one, which tend to be mass market models.

I keep going back and forth over selling my S3 19 plate 14k on the clock and getting the new S3 as I don't fancy paying next years tariffs
Just need to see that interior first in person .

I think you will be hard pushed to get an S3 this year. The new dash can be seen in new A3s which are at dealers now. They are nothing like as classy as the 8V sadly.

I do like the looks of the exterior in the s3 but unfortunately the interior is second rate will keep hold of my 19 plate for a while

I think that is probably what a lot of folks will do. The interior, dash in particular doesn't look special enough for an Audi. Seat or Skoda may get away with it.

Having viewed dozens of youtube vids l quite like the interior and dashboard now ,theres a young chap who has an Edition 1 s-line model on youtube and it does look the part ...and to be honest the 8v dashboard aint without its own flaws again in the airvent department.. straight from a kiddies toy gun hated them, also the silver door card/dashboard trim looked out of place ....the standard sport seats offered no support at all...worst seats l have ever planted my **** in so the 8y basic interior is far more stylish ...you also dont have to spend £1800/£1300 for an Technology package Like you use to do in the PFL/FL which was daylight robbery

I think you are in the minority thinking the 8y interior looks the part and is more stylish than the 8v interior its a massive step backward if anything .

The new shape hasn't blown me away with no power increase and a worse looking interior so there is no rush for me to get one .
I went to the dealers last week to have a look but unfortunately they were all locked so couldn't get a proper look and feel of it .

I took a good look at an Sline. Exterior looks freshened up. Seats look nice, wheels boring. It the low rent dash that really lets it down. 4 months with similar dash in a Q3 Sportback Vorsprung was enough for me. Touch screen may be ok for an iPad or iPhone but not in an Audi. All imho .

Opinions of others dont bother me mate...if l choose to order one its the amount of discount that matters most of all best l have seen so far is 8-5% which is guff...i'll be looking for 12%

Totally agree about the touch screen tech in cars i'am not a lover of it either .
I also hope they release more wheel options for the S3 as the current line up on the configurator are terrible .

Still looking forward to seeing one in the metal tho

Will be good to see new S3/RS3 in the flesh. I could be tempted in a year or two.
