Hi guys,

I'm looking for a set original 19" wheels for my facelift A3 E-Tron.
I can't decide between these two models yet:

1)

2)

Can you guys tell me what both wheels are 'called/official name' and partnumbers?

And what about o.e.m. sizes? Are they all 235/35/19 8J ET49?
Or differences in ET values? What would be the best ET value, so I don't need spacers?

At this point I have the stock 225/50/18 7.5J ET51 Speedline wheels, and I need 20mm rear and 10mm front spacers to get the 'flush look':

Funny, I've been having the exact same dilema with the same two designs!

Im worried the S-Line ride height will be a bit wagon wheels with 19's...

Could be... Any pictures of guys with stock ride height and those 19" wheels?

Not the same wheels but I’ve got 19 alloys on and stock ride hide. However, I don’t know what stock suspension the E-Tron has as I know the S3 is lowered as standard.

the s3 ride height was set for 19”s, its lower than s-line, which is the concern.

its photos of S-line with 19’s that will be be beneficial as i am led to believe the e-tron bas a similar ride Height as s-line

Set 1 for me. I personally think the original S3 alloys are one of Audi's best looking wheel designs. And it's not a wheel that is copied on every other car in the Audi range (apart from the SQ5) like the Rota's were.

Well, here are the part numbers for the wheels you might want:

The ones from the first picture: 8x19 ET49 - 8V0601025AB
The second picture: 8x19 ET49 - 8V0601025AT

Worth to consider (not on your list yet, just google number for an image): 8x19 ET49 - 8V0601025AS

@ all: thanks for all the usefull and detailed answers.
The E-Tron stock ride height is awfully high (fender-to-ground height is around 69cm / 26.16 inch).
I tried Eibach Pro springs. Looks were great (fender-to-ground-height 64cm/ 25.2 inch), but ride quality on speedbumps and potholes wasn't nice.
So back on stock shocks/springs again and looking for a good coilover kit.
Hard to find... Nobody makes them for the Golf GTE/A3 E-Tron...

19" on my stock ride height would indeed look like 'wagon wheels', so I guess I have to fix the ride height first....

The Eibach Pro kit with stock dampers is perhaps the softest lowering setup. If you felt it was too firm, so perhaps lowering is not your thing. All, I guess, other options would be even firmer.

What are you expecting of coilovers? The coilovers let you adjust ride hight. Some of them would let you adjust the damper rebound. But you would unlikely get more comfy springs with them.

It wasn't uncomfortable at all. It felt sporty, responsive and precise.
Only downside was that on small potholes I felt a hard 'bang'... The kind where you would think your rims would bend. Like I drove on 21 inch rims. Like the shocks hit the 'end' (the correct Eibach bumpstops where fitted)...
Also I hit/scraped thinks underneath the car when driving slowly over speedbumps. Ground clearance was only 9.5cm on some spots (lowest parts underneath, like for example the round jacking points)

I understood. However, this is my second car on Eibach Pro springs and I never experienced same problem. I guess there is some issue with the springs or the dampers. I would research it more if I was you before ditching this setup, approved as one of the best by many. I would:
- check out is the chosen springs were the right ones for your vehicle. I don't know how heavy the e-tron is. What if your springs were developed for a lighter car?
- check the dampers. Are they new? How many miles were they in use?
- check if your front springs were fitted correct (fully to stops), or it could cause the clanking sound.
- Modify the bump stops by cutting an inch off a narrow end. Perhaps the correct Eibach bump stops were too long.

@dp_motley Eibach springs 'should be' the correct ones for my E-Tron, I double checked the numbers on the springs...
Dampers are 41.000km / 25.400 miles old and car is from 7-2017.
The springs are mounted correctly, checked by two individual mechanics who are local 'experts' when it comes to lowering.
Only thing that wasn't done, was cutting the (already shorter than o.e.m.) Eibach bump stops, but those were in the Eibach box, so should match the springs?

visited 'willtheyfit' like @rafletcher mentioned (thanks!)

235/35/19 8J ET49 wheels would look good.
To get the flush look with my o.e.m. 225/40/18 7.5J ET51 wheels, I needed 10mm spacers front and 17.5mm spacers rear.
But with the new setup, only ~10mm spacers on the rear needed (because 'the outer rim will poke out 8.3mm more than before')

But what about reading speeds? Is this something that needs adjustment (vcds)?
For examle: Reading at 60mph: - 60mph - 59.08mph

So ~1mph difference.
Is this normal? Shouldn't speed readings on all factory A3's (regardless of whether they are supplied on 17, 18 or 19 inch o.e.m. wheels) be the same?

Last thing: 'Ride height gain Arch gap loss: 4.95mm'
Nice!!! 'Free extra 'lowering/looks' :blackrs4::yahoo:

Given that your speedo will read “fast” anyway, by up to 3mph, and that there will be a difference between a new tyre and a worn one, I’d not worry about 1mph difference.

Still looking for a set (second hand, in The Netherlands).
Will I notice a difference in the width of the tires (driving/behavior)? Down-or upsides?
Because, if I understand correctly, 19" o.e.m wheels are 235/35/19 and 18" o.e.m. wheels are 225/40/18...

The ride will be firmer, due to the lower sidewall height. And quite probably the road noise will increase, due to the greater width and lower profile. And you're much more likely to kerb them. Tyres may be a bot more expensive. Upsides are probably limited to appearance. :)

After change from oem 225/40/18 to non-oem 235/35/19 I noticed this:
1) steering got a little heavier during parking.
2) fuel consumption increased by approximately 10%.

As to easier curbing, I disagree because both 18" and 19" wheels have a low sidewall and those few additional mm that the 18" tyre has in comparison to the 19" one is still not enough to run over a curb. Just avoid this evil :)

Speaking of the noise, a lot depends on your tyre choice. Do research and get quiet tyres. My oem 225/40/18 Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tyres were louder than the new 235/35/19 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5. However, even the Assy5 weren't quiet enough for my liking, so I chose 235/35/19 Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 when I bought new alloys. The RT2 are much quieter than the Assy5 and even more quieter than the RT, but they are heavier and less comfortable than the Assy5. When I'll get new alloys again, I'm going to fit the Assy5 (f*ck the noise, I just bought noise deadening materials that I'm going to fit in a month;) ).

Thanks for all the useful answers. Appreciated!

Haven't thought about fuel economy... Good point. Especially for me, because I often drive fully electric and the EV range is limited. So 10% is a lot...

Maybe 225 on 8J 19" would be my better choice?

The width is not the only trouble. The trouble IMHO is the wheel weight as most 19" alloys are heavier than the 18" ones, thus bad fuel economy. I'm considering lighter alloys, such as Bola FLD (19x8.5 = 9 kg) or Concaver CVR3 (19x8.5 = 10.7 kg). If you still want the oem alloys only, consider the S3 alloys from post #22. I've heard they are forged and very light.

Thanks, also a good point! Light wheels are always the smarter choice. This is also a reason I never want replicas...
So you think the S3 alloys would weight less than the 5V-spoke wheels? (8V0601025AT)

That’s also an S3 wheel option, I have them on mine.

As much as I have heard, these S3 alloys are forged, thus they are so light (9.5 kg?) and so expensive. I can't guarantee that my knowledge is correct, do your own research.

I just found a confirmation online that the S3 alloys from a performance package weigh 21 lbs. The V-spokes weigh approximately 27 lbs.

Thanks, I found my o.e.m. 18 inch wheels are 26.2lbs, so nice to have bigger wheels which are also lighter.

@dp_motley what 'model' are your new 19" wheels? Look verrrrrrrrrry good!
And are they o.e.m. or replica's?
It's a replica of the new RS6 Avant alloys, 19x8.5 ET45. I agree they look good. The only issue with them is that they are too heavy for my taste (12.5 kg without a tyre).

Steering was lighter with the oem wheels. I didn't notice any difference in handling but acceleration was faster with the lighter oem wheels. My next step will be replacing heavy replica with some lighter flow forged 19 inch aftermarket alloys.

@dp_motley thanks for your answer.
This strengthens my decision never to go for replicas...
So back to looking at o.e.m. 19" wheels on the local Dutch marketplaces. Or some BBS, Vossen or Ispiri wheels.

Please,

does anyone know the type or number of this alloy wheels , should be Audi sport 19"?
Thx.

It is a copy of RS6 wheels that are 22" big as oem. I have a 19" replica of these wheels on my car. They are heavy. GMP Italy make an Angel wheels that look similar. I know of one more aftermarket wheel manufacturer who makes wheels with this design but I don't remember the brand.

Where did you get your replica ones from? Would you recommend them?

I bought mine on ebay.co.uk. I wouldn't recommend them due to their weight. One rim weights 12.5 kg. It wouldn't be a problem for a S3, but I can feel how my stage 1 1.5TFSI loses dynamics. Also, there was an issue with the finish: the lug bolt holes weren't painted deep enough so I could see grey paint around the bolts. I had to paint the holes myself before fitting the wheels. I'm going to replace mine with some flow forged ones next season.

Thanks, yeh had seen some on ebay, can understand probably not best with the weight/finish etc, they do look awesome on your car though! Cheers for the reply
