Hi gang

How can I activate the tail rear lights to to be on at the same time as the front Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on my facelift A5 Sportback S-Line, please?

Otherwise known as 'Scandinavian DRLs' I was able to activate it on my 2018MY A5 Sportback using the OBDEleven app. However, this modification isn't in the app for the 2020MY A5 (along with a few other mods that havenn't made it from the 2018MY).

Strangely, you can add Scandinavian rear DRLs to the 2020MY Audi A4 cars - same car same electrics as the A5, just one is hatch / coupe / cabriolet; the other a saloon and estate, yet both B9.5 cars.

Can anyone help, please? I've tried OBDEleven and I've had no response back from its support dispite trying these past few weeks.

Thanks

Can't help yet but a related question. In the facelift cars are there more than 1 version of the tail lights?

In the pre facelift, there was a version with Dynamic turn lights and one without.

Answering my own question. So apparently even on the facelift lights there are two options for Dynamic Indicators and non Dynamic Indicators.

So I am wondering, if on that basis, you need to get ODBEleven to suggest or figure out the settings for your car.

Sorted my own problem, got Carista app and sorted! Far friendlier tech support than OBD11 and far more mods to the facelift 2020MY on A5.

The taillights are standard on the facelift. Only difference is animated graphics on start up and shut down

Don't bother with OBD Eleven. It has a handful of pointless mods for the B9.5 but stacks for the equivalent B9.5 A4.

Carista has many more and useful ones, like Scandinavian DRLs. But it hasn't yet got the dancing dynamic lights

There are two versions of the taillights on the facelift models. Do you know what the differences are?
The Audi dealer told me the difference is one has Dynamic Indicators and one doesn't.

Both have dynamic scrolling indicators front-end rear. However, Vorsprung and above get the 'dancing brick' animated front and rear lights when you lock and unlock the car

I doubt you will get animated lights to work. The part numbers for the tail lights are completely different between the two versions.

I'm not bothered on the animated dancing lights on my 2020MY S-Line. Simply happy to have Scandinavian DRLs activated via the Carista app, like I had on my last 2018MY A5 is more than enough for me and I'm happy with it! :)

Is not the a4 b9.5 the exact same systems as the a5 b9.5. They certainly were the same in earlier cars. Carisa used to be slow to be developed, always in beta and buggy in the past compared to odb11.

Yep, they are, you're right. But OBD Eleven has a handful of rubbish (for me) mods for the B9.5 A5 and stacks of goodies for the A4 B9.5...

On the other hand Carista has a stack of cool mods for the A5 B9.5 - so I went and bought Carista.

Not the same car but i set the rear lights to daytime running on my RS6 with the Carista box. Great bit of kit.

What other things did you activate with carista on your facelift? Could you make a list?

And is it as simple as turning it on and off or is some sort of long coding required?

Any chance you could PM me the info?

............go on the Carista web site mate. They have all the models listed in the menu, click on your model & all the info you need is in further drop down menu's.

I just wanted Scandinavian DRLs.

You simply plug the OBD device into the port beneath the dashboard by your right knee. Install the Carista app. Turn Bluetooth on and the two communicate. You cam see the mods. Change or change back what you want atvthe dress of a button on the app
