I know most people just disable it with OBD11, or push the disable button each time, but I dont hate the feature, i want to use it.
However, unlike previous cars I've had with this feature, where it knows I've actually come to a stop, and activates once the brake is depressed all the way, in my Audi it decides that when my car isnt moving, even if i haven't pressed the brake down at all (like in slow moving traffic) it wants to shut off all the time. Its so irritating, and actually feels dangerous. Can I fine tune it somehow to only go off when I press the brake down?

Do you have Your foot quite heavily in the brake pedal When stationary ? I find I can force the stop/ start to ‘stop’ if I put heavy pressure on brake .. lift a tiny amount , without moving , it restarts ... might be different based on engine etc ..

^^^^ yep... if you press hard on the brake pedal at rest the green (P) comes on the dash to stop to having your foot on the brake and binding drivers behind with your stop lights

Yep, all A4s with the automatic work like this. Brake pressure will determine if start/stop activates if all other conditions are met, i.e. temperature, engine load, etc.
If you slip it into sport mode this disables it. I use this method sometimes to temporarily disable it as its quite easy, then go back to D when you want.

Nah guys, mine is different. It will literally cut off with no press to the break. I'm used to, on my old car (BMW F30) having to depress the brake properly at a stop for it to cut off. With my Audi it is way more sensitive. If I'm slowing down towards a stop, or traffic, it will cut off when I'm slowing down, but still sightly moving, and haven't pressed the break down properly. Very annoying. I wish it was that when I was stopped, and push the brake flat, it will cut out, but thats not the case. It decides for itself that I'm coming to a stop, and will just cut off, leaving me at a stop, and waiting for it to start again before I can move forward again slightly in traffic.
Its a bit hard to explain, maybe I'm not making much sense.

Isn’t this part of the effects of the mild hybrid system where it coasts when it knows there is a need to stop coming up?

Do yourself and your car a favor and disable that sh@t. The worst mode for the engine is starting it. You will have more engine/battery life without using it.

I've got a manual gearbox so I get a few ways of avoiding it stop starting without hitting the button to disable it.
- For mine to trigger stop / start the following conditions must be met:

- Parking break applied
- Car in neutral
- Foot off the clutch

If any one of those isn't met it wont do it. It's perfect. All hail manual the manual gearbox!
