Will four 19 inch alloy wheels with tyres (235, 35, 19) fit inside an A3 with the seats folded flat? My A3 has the smaller boot with the higher false floor.

I want to make sure they’ll fit before making the journey to collect them.

It would be great to hear from someone who’s tried this before.

My 18s with the same rolling circumference fit with space to spare, and they aren’t near the headlining either so they should fit.

Two wheels laid flat and two at an angle

Thanks. I thought I’d be ok, but it’s nice to have that bit of reassurance before making a 250 mile round trip.

Managed 4 x 18-inch x 9J ET52 Audi TT S-Line wheels with Bridgestone RE50 245/40 18 tyres in ours - with driver and passenger of course:

TT wheels in the RS3

And the 245/40 18 is 25.7" diameter x 9.6" wide with is larger than your 235/35 19 @ 25.5" diameter x 9.3" wide - so yes I'd say you can, easily...

I did 4 18s in mine with the seats flat and lots of blankets.... Be aware though that with the 18s I have I notice a significant drop in EV range from my 17s that I use in the winter so 19s will be even worse !

I’ve gone for the forged 19 inch wheels that were standard fit on S3 saloons. Apparently they’re lighter than the S3 18 inch wheels.

I’m expecting to see a drop in EV range, but hopefully nothing major. I can get 20 miles on a warm day, half that on a chilly winters morning.

Not that much lighter.. Maybe 1KG difference..
But they look much nicer
Your brake discs will become tiny, that's why audi puts 18" on A3 or S3 but RS3 has big discs so they put 19"

This video suggests 2kg per wheel and tyre, but this is obviously dependent on the tyre choice.

From the video description:

  • S3 sedan cast 18x8 +46 by Ronal with 225/49/18 Nankang AR1. 22kg total
  • S3 Sportback Performance Pack 18x7.5 +51 with 225/40/18 Bridgestone RE003. 21kg total
  • S3 Sedan/convertible Performance Pack forged 19x8 +49 by Fuchs with 235/35/19 Continental SC6. 19kg total

Is your A3 E-Tron lowered? Or the stock (awfully high) ride height?
Would love some photo's after you fitted the 19" S3 wheels!
My E-tron was lowered, but back on stock ride height because I didn't like the behavior on speedbumps/potholes (Eibach Pro springs), so now looking for Bilstein coilover...
Also looking for the same wheels, see my topic: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/looking-for-o-e-m-19-wheels-what-name-partnumber.417584/

Just look at my avatar silly :D

Your avatar?
Sorry, I asked (and quoted) 'etron Wales' because he also has an E-Tron... (curious how 19" would look with the high stock e-tron ride height)
I know (looking at your avatar) your A3 2.0 TDI is lowered.

It is not lowered :D :D
It was packed with 12 pcs concrete slabs / flags :D :D :D
Would never go so low..

I’m lowered on Eibach pro springs. The handling is a million times better than the standard springs. You do notice the harsher ride on potholes and speed bumps, but it’s not bad enough for me to revert to standard.

I find the front bumper catches on speed bumps because it’s so low. The 19 inch wheels should raise the car up by 6.4mm and reduce the arch gap by 6.4mm (according to willtheyfit.com).

I ended up going with the Pro Springs, but found them to be really bouncy so added Bilstein B8s as well really good now and looks smart.

Yeah will definitely fit I got my 19 alloys in with tyres fitted in the back of my 3door S3, was a bit of a squeeze but got back home 200 miles later in one piece!

As for the weight, the 19 inch wheels are lighter.

The 19 inch wheels weigh 19kg (half worn tyres) and the standard etron 17s weigh 21kg (6mm tread).

Disclaimer: I measured them using my cheapo spring loaded bathroom scales.

how's the ride quality?

The handling is a bit sharper with the lower profile tyres and road noise is louder. The ride comfort hasn’t really changed. Combined with the Eibach pro kit, it’s how it should have handled from the factory.

I think the electric range has decreased slightly, but I need to use the car more to give a fair comparison.

EV range decreased? The new wheels are lighter, shouldn't the EV range increase?
PS: The wheels look great on your lowered E-Tron.
Maybe some spacers on the rear?

Mine: o.e.m. 225/40/18 7.5J ET51 wheels, I needed 10mm spacers front and 17.5mm spacers rear.

The rear does look better with spacers, but I think my wife would cut up my credit card if I bought anything else for the car after spending the best part of a grand on the wheels.

It’s still to early to tell with the electric range.
