Driving back from work making a right turn and total loss of power steering With red steering symbol Called Audi assist and the AA couldn't reset or diagnose the fault. Taken to local vag specialists with dealer diagnostic equipment and they can't with a quick look find the fault. And a week b4 it's looked at. Any one had the red steering symbol?

Was also power steering failure £2300 out of warranty. Very poor for 3 1/2 year old car under 50,000 miles.

And1, did you take it to an Audi dealer for the repair? If so, I presume they approached Audi for good will repair. What reasons did they give for refusing? For something as critical as power steering I'd have thought failures should be extremely rare and if not then it could lead to a recall.
No I didn't take it to a main dealer as I thought the repair price was going to be a lot more than audi specialist
