I don't have the phone box but it seemed to be suggested that you could code the second phone option.
I have OBDeleven and it shows that option but if I try and select it just says unavailable.
I used to be able to have 2 phones connected in my last V60 and when you run dual work/personal phones its extremely useful.

Or am I going to have to retrofit the phonebox ?

I managed it on mine without the phone box.H owever you can't have two phones connected and one using Android Auto, which is very frustrating.

You sure you don’t already have it. I’m almost sure my 2020 C&S BE does. But as above doesn’t work if I’m connected to Apple CarPlay.
Bluetooth only.

Mine isn't a BE but a sport with comfort and sound.
I don't have the phone box/wireless charging option.

Its been said its possible but not worked out how.
I do notice as you say when connected to Android Auto the Bluetooth seems to be disconnected.

I don’t have the phone box or wireless charging either. ( I made my own wireless charging solution. Lol. ) I’ll check for sure when the wife brings it back.

My logs say.

Telephone functions configuration:
Support for second telephone:
On
Support parallel phone calls:
On
Support for call holding function:
Off

But I’ll need to check. I think it can be coded in module 5f if not.

Are you using the one click app or the adaptation option.
Under module 5F you can select adaptation , go to function configuration phone ( not telephone functions configuration)
There should be Support Second phone. Options are None , one, two , three.

Those are in the telematics module 75 but if like mine you shouldnt have to change anything.
Also reboot the mmi (long press on the power volume button until it reboots )

Thanks you are a star , lots to learn clearly on the coding but in honesty not enough hours in the day currently.

All configured and working Mark , do you know if you use a wireless to USB converter you can have 2 phones and Android Auto.
Thats my ultimate with 2 wireless charging points .
I had considered both sims into my S10 but it actually still causes issues and I prefer work and private phones to remain separate.

I’m not sure to be honest. I’m now using wireless CarPlay , and it disables Bluetooth.
I don’t know much about android auto. I think they restricted wireless to certain phones ? If it’s like CarPlay in the Audi smartphone interface it pretty much makes Bluetooth redundant and not available.

It would seem from what I had already found you are correct.
Thats a huge disappointment I wonder if its the same on other manufacturers.

In my experience Android Auto tends to auto enable Bluetooth to that device. Basically stopping dual Bluetooth from working.
Honestly I didn't spend a long time on fixing it, I wasn't that bothered. But that's my initial experience.

It appears to be a general android auto issue across all manufacturers and even stand alone in car hifi which have AA
Not sure if the same issue happens across carplay
