Hi Guys, hoping you could help me out. Hopefully this is something small and simple for once that won't skint me.

I have the 3.0l TDI 245bhp A6 and I've recently noticed when I first start the car the idle seems very rough to a point the engine is shaking the car a little. It does not stall although I sometimes sit expecting it to. Drives absolute fine no problems and once gets warmer then seems abit better.
Could this just be a low idle.
Has anyone else experienced this. It's due to have a remap at the end of September would this fix it maybe.

It's like it struggling to breathe a little.

Anyone any ideas

Hi,

I've got a problem with my injector seals and due to have them replaced this month. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that it's been rough idling also could just be coincidence or it also is due for a oil change.

Will find out more once they're done. Are you getting a smell of fumes inside the cabin?

Thanks Danny, I get no smells or anything noone else even notices it's just me with it been my car. Drives perfect. I have just changed the oil and filter this week so see if that helps. It's due a remap start of October so hoping I can maybe map it out. Someone else mentioned DMF but usually that gives inconsistent idle mine just seems low

Hi all, sorry to bump this but I've now spent hundreds trying to fix my problem been to several garages and I'm still absolutely nowhere.
I'm convinced I've got dirt and carbon ect in the system as from what I've read my symptoms all show towards that.

It's had every filter changed, throttle body repaired as had leak apparently, I've had a full engine clean except injectors as they could not do those apparently. Several VAGCOMs also compression test which apparently all came back saying engine and injectors are all fine. Yet I've still got a rough idle.

When I changed all the filters they was filthy and fuel filter so bad it was blocked. This makes me feel it's all just clogged but why am I struggling to find anyone that can fix this and able to clean it.

I'm losing faith in mechanics now and starting to get desperate as I don't want to drive as it has cut out before the idle is that bad.

I have added some injector cleaner myself and I've noticed the odd time it's fine for a minute before going rough again.

Does anyone have any ideas please.

Mine does it occasionally at startup. Maybe once a week or so. Idles really lumpy for a few seconds, then clears up and drives fine.
Asked around about this before and it seemed it wasn't uncommon.
Don't think there's any problem with my injector seals, no smells or any gunk leaking out.

Well so far I've changed every filter on the car, had dpf ect cleaned. I had a small leak on throttle body so changed that. Done injector tests all fine. Today I have seals been done so fingers crossed it's fixed. I'll update once picked it up.

So update for anyone that has same issues. First of all don't waste money on injectors ect. After spending lots of money and time in garages I decided to spend some money on good fuel injector cleaner, this with shell vpower fuel car is now fine again. Admittedly I always thought the cheap supermarket fuel been **** was a myth but I stand by this is what caused my issue. Side note remap done today now 295bhp and 650nm torque
