Having done the full detail I’ve fallen in love with my car again.

I’m treating it to an alloy refurb, but going gunmetal not chrome.

The window surround will be the weakest part, I want to go darker: Do I wrap or replace?

Anyone done either?

I have a lava grey. And I love my chrome surround, although all my friends keep saying De chrome.

Can't decide.

Both look good - I'm just not that guy no more.

I would go with the wrap, I have done a few, looks so much better, always seemed to be a far cheaper option than replacing

I used gloss black trim tape on mine, very easy to do and looks the part, got the tape off eBay

Looks good with the black hood. Did you take the trim off or wrap with it in place.

I’ve got trim removal tools but have heard you can break the surrounds quite easily.

Wrap in place.
Had mine on since new (black optics pack wasn’t an option then)
My local wrap guy did mine - £150 and a couple of hours work :racer:

Like that - those mirrors set it off a treat :hubbahubba:

I’ve just ordered some gunmetal grey wrap and will give it a go.

I had my A7 window surrounds Dechromed with wrap, and it REALLY sets it off and makes a big difference.

Got the wheels back and really pleased.

Did a quick run with cheap eBay tape and really like the effect so did it again properly.

Comparison shots with and without the wrap.
