Had a rather torrential day yesterday here in lovely Glasgow and went out to my car this morning to find the passenger footwell is absolutely drenched .

All windows and doors were securely closed and nothing has been spilled in the car .

Car booked in to Audi Glasgow for investigation on 17th August as its the first appointment they have for a water ingress check .

Anyone had anything similar??

Should say the car has no sunroof and the only change recently is I've had the air conditioning on every day as I had an unpleasant smell like cat urine coming from the vents if the car hadn't been used for a few days so thought it was just lack of use as I never use air conditioning normally

I might be wrong but I’m sure I remember reading someone on here who had the same issue a while back. Can’t remember what the cause was.

Coolant is well below minimum

Called audi roadside assist and they are sending a tech out to check as I told them I wasn't comfortable driving it with low coolant

I know i could just top it up but might as well use the assistance and warranty while I'm entitled :tearsofjoy:

AA man turned up and I explained the situation to him, he just agreed it'll most likely be a coolant leak.

Car being picked up by a truck tomorrow and delivered to Audi Glasgow

Yeah thank feck for warranty.

Imagined it would be a costly job if was to be done outwith warranty

Car collected by AA recovery vehicle this morning and delivered to Audi for investigation.

Been supplied with a 69 plate Q5 45TFSI S Line for the duration of investigation and repair which is better than I expected tbf :tearsofjoy:

Had coolant leak on my 2019 RS3, faulty pump seal. Complete pump replaced under warranty.
Daughter also had exact same issue a month after mine, pump replaced as well and no issues since both pumps replaced.

More info, our issues were with the engine coolant, easy fix and only 1.5 day in Audi workshop.

Doesn’t explain the passenger footwell being soaked which sounds like a different area leaking.

If its not from the coolant inside the car, then is it rain water seeping in from one of the panel joints.. (hope not!).

Still no update from Audi .

Had a call on Saturday afternoon to confirm that they received the car but thats it do far.

If it isn't coolant I would suspect a damaged seal or grommet somewhere as we did have torrential rain a few times last week

So got a call on Friday to say the car was ready for collection.

On arrival I was told they were unable to find any leak in the heater matrix but they did find a very small leak at the water pump which would account for the coolant loss.

The water ingress was traced to a faulty boot seal , as a result of the ingress they replaced all interior carpets , partial wiring loom replaced due to water damage and the Amp/Sub in the wheel well .

Car was completely sanitised before handover and has no smell of dampness at all , time will tell if the issue has been rectified but they said it had been checked twice for further ingress after the seal was replaced . I will say the passenger rear footwell was wet when I first noticed the front but not as saturated so perhaps the water was coming along a trim panel and pooling at the front .

All in all happy with the service from Glasgow Audi , only black mark was they washed it with their grit ridden sponges and left swirl marks on the B pillars so it'll be going to my detailer at some point to have them polished out. Must remember to put my please do not wash sign on the mirror if it ever has to go back :tearsofjoy:

Glad you got it sorted mate.

I found water around my battery in the boot few months back. Hasnt returned since.

Think I was just a bit keen with the pressure washer

Good to see all was sorted to your satisfaction. Pity about the washing tho. I'm the same, always a "do not wash" thing hangs from my mirror during service.
