hi all
My mk3 TT PCP is about to expire and im moving to an SQ2 - ordering this week as im told delivery time will be December

firsty - seems audi have dropped the start/stop button on the newer q2/sq2 models and there is no advanced key option on this model year - i wonder why this is (seems like either security or cost cutting??)

the only option that i want that my TT has and isnt available is the high beam assist and the traffic sign recognition (and auto dimming rear view mirror) - i wonder if this is something that can be retro-fitted? if so i can probably buy a second hand auto dimming mirror with camera and then ask for some coding - does anyone know if the ability is there

any other nice q2/sq2 retrofits out there?

Hi Mate,

Congrats on the new order, it’s very annoying not having the start stop button on my Q2...I have send models in the show room with it and the heads up display also.

with regards to the HBA i have this on my Q2 and it uses a new generation camera mounted on the windscreen not behind the rear view mirror. This camera is also used for the lane keep assist and ACC. I’m sure I can be retrofitted but would need a new windscreen tho. The rear view mirror can’t be ordered from my Memory although it can be retrofitted and used the same mirror as the A3 8V.

it is available in other countries as options (france/germany/ireland) but not the UK - and was standard on the vorsprung model that isnt offered anymore as i would of picked that spec (again hes checking there are any open orders for vorsprung sq2's that can be adapted to my wants)

Hi mate as far as I’m aware it is the same camera. I’ve attached my spec so compare with yours as mine has all the assistants systems including blind spot assist.
With regards to the rear view mirror, I don’t believe it requires any coding, it should just be plug and play but @DJAlix would be the best one to ask with regards to retrofits...been seeing him for years.

thanks Callum, i dropped past and filled out the form on his company website so we will wait and see
Audi have confirmed they cant order an sq2 vorsprung or add advnaced key/HBA to my build as its not an option in the UK (the dealer said that the ireland options allow him to though!) - the dealer has been great - also a bit flumoxed by no vorspung anymore given he has a new intenral spec sheet from 4 weeks ago that has it on until end of the year

i wonder if the MY21 will drop in the next few weeks, if it does my order may get updated to it regardless - does anyone have any news do you think?

I went round the loop with my Audi dealer at retro fitting auto dimming internal mirror and HBA, but as the wiring wasn’t present the dealer was reluctant to do the retro fit. They looked at other Q2 models on site as the auto dimming mirror and HBA was an option until recently to see what wiring and connectors we’re present, but this didn’t help! Only route is a retro fit company, so I suggest a call to Vag Car Coding, who should be able to help out.

thanks Graham. My car comes with Audi pre sense which hopefully utilises prqk1 Camera. If that is the case then I can fit an auto dimming mirror and just turn on functions like high beam assist and traffic sign recognition via coding - will give vag car coding a call When it arrives early December
 
Very interested in this. My Q2 has pre-sense, auto dimming mirror but no traffic sign recognition or high beam assist. Could it really be true that activating these is just coding?

me two. From reading around it looks like as long as you have a can gateway High then it’s just coding As long as you have the high camera

The only downside on sq2 is I wanted a vorsprung and they don’t build them anymore ! So lost the high beam, and traffic sign recognition, dim rear view and lost advanced key which I all wanted. But I did gain folding mirrors. Apart from Advanced key I think they can be retrofitted

I have all the drivers assistance so I assume I have the highest camera available but as I said before it’s all done from the camera in the wo screen and front radar sensor...Side assist, reverse assist, ACC etc. To be honest I don’t think they would have two types of camera, productions Costa etc...I have a strong feeling you’ll be able to activate it.

I have a different set up I think from you. You seem to have way more going on behind your mirror even though I have the auto-dimming mirror.i only have the camera or whatever it is for auto lights, wipers and the standard pre-sense.

Can you see what the camera is called? Model number? That way we can work out what in theory it can do!

May have to take a scan of yours and see what is on and then we may be able to replicate depending what the tech we share (if it’s same camera and can gateway)
I think I saw a link somewhere as to you put you vin in and it shows what PR codes you have?
May need someone who has a standard sq2 in a model year 20 to see what is different in parts

Hi mate,

you probably have the light sensor and the radar sensor behind the bumper. Mine is big due to having the assistant systems camera.

where would it be behind the bumper? I don’t have ACC so nothing like that radar on it. Only parking sensors. I’ll take a pic of the camera/sensor in the mirror set up but it’s the same as the A3 I had, standard kind of thing so I’m doubtful it has any other uses. It’s the triangle style kind that you can see from outside, in middle of the front windscreen.

if its inside the mirror its the same as on my TT and that can do lane keep assist, traffic sign recog and high beam assist - you will need the cruise control stalk to have a button on the end for lane keep assist as that activates and deactivates. the rest "SHOULD" just be coding (assuming the can gateway is a high model - but again im not an expert and can only go on what ive read on the TT forums - i actived traffic sign recognition on my TT from that camera via a mates obdeleven - it came with lane assist and HBA from factory

I’ll take a photo of it tomorrow. It’s not inside the mirror, it’s just in the trim behind the mirror and on the front windscreen. Not attached to the mirror at all. Anyway, dubious, but would love to be proven wrong! @DJAlix any thoughts on this?
 
Ok so, photo below. No cameras at all unfortunately. Just the lights and wiper sensors. Gutted!

update, the sq2 vorspung has arrived at audi today, the salesman is on holdiay for next 2 weeks, however suggested that we do handover when hes back and get it on a 70 plate - so first week of september it will be here

dealer did a video of the car being prepped today for me, looks great - had a look inside - been confirmed that it has the following
  • full leather, privacy glass
  • park assist
  • rear camera/park sensors front and rear
  • adaptive dampers
  • adaptive cruise control
  • side and lane assist
  • elec fold mirrors - online spec sheet says manual which i thought was odd
  • heads up display
  • advanced key - will be intereting to see what version key it is
  • ambeint lighting
will be reged next week to get 70 plate!

@Callum Jarvis - happy to take it somewhere for either code scan or for someone to look for the part numbers for items you may want!

its here, collected this morning - love it!
it did have the power fold auto dim mirrors in the end (audi got the docs wrong as they said manual fold)
the vorsprung editions are literally fully loaded, even has the adaptive suspension with dampers that change with drive select!

The Car looks amazing! Love the extended leather on the door armrests (Not sure if Audi still call it that)
