1.8TQS Bang from the rear axle

Hi guys, recently I noticed a strange bang coming from the rear end of my TQS when moving off, it's basically at the biting point of the clutch that the rear end makes this noise like if the flywheel was banging onto the gearbox wall or something it's hard to explain and I can feel this sort of tooth skipping motion in the drive train at the same time. All the bushes etc seem fine even the prop shaft and CV joints on the rear seem fine so I'm unsure of what this could be. Could it actually be the flywheel itself? It only does it when I'm driving around town for about 20 minutes so temperature affects it. Thanks in advance for any tips.

You need to adjust your seat until the biting point is right at the end of your leg travel/pedal sweep.

or get a rear diff that doesn't "bang"...
 
Hey, sounds like diff carrier bushes or the support bush on front of the diff is gone, will it make the same bang on quick gear change?

Thanks for the help mate, it doesnt do it when changing gears, my diff is bad as it's making this noise like if u had a lot of tiny metal balls inside a big metal ball and all those little balls were bouncing inside there, if that makes any sense :D I was about to have the gaskets changed as it was leaking and the mechanic told me the diff is no good and needs to be replaced so not sure if this bang is due to that aswell.
 
Hard to say but if you 100% sure the diff is dead then makes sense to replace it and ask the person to go through the diff suspension. Good luck
 
You say the bushes look fine but when were they all replaced? The car will be between 19-25 years old so if your still running the original bushes then that would be my first place to start. However if the diff is bad then replace that and change any bushes you can while the diff is out.

I want to do that, as I was planing to get the rear subframe completely free of any bushes have it sand blasted and powder coated and then put all new bushes in. I can't be without the car for too long tho so I'm thinking maybe I'll source a used subframe and get that ready to fit.
