Been happening for a couple of months now knocking noise over bumps at low speed taken into a couple of garages no play in ball joints , bushes , track rod ends or arb droplinks what else can it be it is doing my head in

It’s more than likely one of 2 things-
1. Subframe bolts that have stretched over time and causing slight movement of the subframe assembly or
2. Steering rack, they’re renowned for failing due to the bearings within the rack itself. This can be checked by raising the front axle and applying full lock with the steering then seeing if there’s any up and down movement on the steering arm on the side thats fully extended.
For further info use the search function and you’ll see how common this is.

Definitely not springs as I have had Bilstein b8 shocks with eibach sport lines to try and cure the knocking fitted new top mounts and bearings in the process

Go around with your torque wrench and re torque the shocker bolts, you may have missed one, I did and it sounded like a cracking noise.
Try to narrow down the noise to the front or back of the car.

The plastic guards in front of the rear suspension like to bounce around as their mounting points loosen up over time. I had this issue when I first purchased my 2010 last year. Quite noisy, but it was nonetheless tricky to track down (and yes, it was difficult to tell front or rear). In the end, I wedged some adhesive foam between the guards and the body (right and left side) and it's been silent ever since.
