Hello everyone,

My a/c isn’t working, since I bought the car (2016) it never worked and I haven’t done anything because I use my motorbike during all the summer.

At the beginning I recharged the system because I thought that was the problem, but it didn’t work

After all this time I decided to fix it, I noticed that the fan doesn’t work, so I used vagcom and the errors are:

00796 - Fan for Interior Temp Sensor (V42)
011 - Open Circuit - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101011
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 5
Reset counter: 190
Mileage: 185523 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2020.02.21
Time: 12:45:14

Freeze Frame:
Voltage: 11.70 V
Temperature: 41.0°C

And another is:

01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
003 - Mechanical Failure – Intermittent

Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100011
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 2
Reset counter: 181
Mileage: 185523 km

Freeze Frame:
Voltage: 14.10 V
Temperature: 15.0°C

Does these 2 faults affect the A/c? the car does the rest functions without problems, but there are 2 things that I notice:

-Sometimes I hear some “clicks” from the vents

-The a/c dont work, but sometimes when I turn the wheel (left or right) it starts to work but for a few seconds only, this is the most strangest part…

That a fault for that specific flap motor (V71). There are several of them behind your dash, some are straight forward to get to some are a big dash strip-down.

Before getting involved with a strip-down I'd clear the fault, run basic settings on flap motors and monitor appropriate measuring block on actuation. If problem persists it tends to be mechanical.

The fan for the internal temp sensor is fitted inside the climate control panel - it sucks air from the cabin over a thermistor which tells the climate control the cabin temperature. The fan and thermistor can get clogged with dust. (that would not account for an intermittent open-circuit though)

On other cars, Volvo in particular, I've fitted a replacement thermistor into the climate panel, usually it's a simple enough repair for anyone who can solder & use a multi-meter.

So maybe these 2 faults are not the cause of the ac not working?

I've cleared the faults a few times but they showed everytime

Any help? can these be the cause of the ac not working?
The radiator fan doesn't work when the AC is "on" , can it be a pressure problem that don't allow it from starting?
