I finally received the obdeleven after 3 weeks of waiting and got stuck in. Never used one before so started with needle sweep to see how it works and after 3 clicks all done. So then I wanted to activate the lock/ unlock sounds and that's where I run into problems. I managed to access control unit 46 and before doing any coding i run the backup. The app kept crashing during the backup and after a few goes I started getting the message that the control unit is not responding. I tried many things like reinstalling the app, rebooting mmi etc. and still no luck. Then I installed the app on a different iphone and got the same message so that means the problem is not due to the phone. Tried to search on Internet for answers but didn't find any solution that worked. Has anyone seen this before and knows how to fix it?

You might be up against the diagnostic firewall.

Try and open the bonnet before starting.

:)

I've got the 2017 A4 which as far as i know doesn't have the firewall and module 46 was initially accessible until it stopped.

Managed to get it working today, just left the driver side door open. Not sure if this has anything to do with the firewall because it worked yesterday with doors closed.

Might be something similar. If you could code with the door shut you may only need to smash a window, having the door open without the alarm on, suggests you have the keys.

I was coding yesterday and it worked again with door closed. Seems like something needed to be reset.
If you smash the window you still need keys to turn ignition on?
