Hey guys and girls, I'm new here. I currently have an 2016 S3 saloon and I'm wanting to do some Mods to it. If someone could help me out, give me a link to something I can buy that's decent or if you own an item your self. I'm not planning on spending big, big straight away. I just want to make it look a bit more nicer and meaner. I've tried having a look for some of these things but I'm extremely crap at searching for stuff.... If you can help me would by highly appreciated.

These are the mods I'm potentially looking for

Burnt tip exhaust tips
Rear lip spoiler in black ( slightly bigger than stock )
Something I can cover the rear defuser with to make it black.
Decent black paint for the wheels.
Some paint for break caliper covers. (RED)
Anything I could use to my come front grill black. Unless you have a decent honey comb grill for a good price.

Also if you have any other ideas or suggestions I'm all ears.

Kind Regards

J

Hi mate, slightly shocked that nobody has replied to this yet! welcome to the forums anyway...normally people would be all over a question like this!!!

Thanks for reply guys, I'll have a look into that paint mate. I'm gonna speak with my partners father as he's helping me with a few things. Actually going to halfords tomorrow to get a new tire fitted on a wheel as had a puncture. But yeah if you guys have any other ideas that I could look into, I'm all ears.

Hammerite is usually a good shout for caliper paint. If you buy black as well you can do the hubs as well kill 2 birds with 1 one stone.

An S3 is a very tasteful car as standard - it's not like you're starting with a base spec Corsa. I'd want to be very sure about those cosmetic mods, which could risk 2 things:

1) that the restrained nature of the car is lost... many people would immediately undo these things if done by a previous owner;
2) that the quality of the cosmetics (e.g. DIY rattle can spray of very visible exterior parts) might not match that of a £35-40k car afterwards.

These things absolutely can be done to a high standard. But I would want to ask myself why I am doing them - and who (apart from yourself) thinks they look better than standard.

/end of Old Man viewpoint.

Reference above

I would never dream of trying to paint my own alloys. . . and on a £40k car, you must be mad !
For peace of mind, get them painted / powder coated by a skilled professional with s good reputation.

Do not put burnt tips on the vehicle, it will look stupid, get Audi gloss black or silver if you want to change them. I just got Audi silver tips and the quality is worth the price. I think I paid £50.00 from Audi Ebay
I love the E-TEC Paint Kit, its expensive but worth it, my calipers look amazing, nice and glossy red and still look great after 3 months of hard driving

Keep it classy, I like sleeper cars, you dont want to chav it up
You know what you have, and it surprises the boy racers in their lowered tinted corsa's LOL

S3 saloon is the best platform of the 8V range for cosmetic mods. You can get carbon fibre lip spoilers, diffusers, honeycomb front grills, combine that with some lowering springs and spacers will give it that aggresive stance without looking chavy.

I understand where you are coming from mate. But I have someone who can help me do it who is very good on working on cars. I know the "DIY" on a 30k car isn't something people do, but if it's done right and I manage to accomplish my goals and I get asked " Where did you do that, or where did you buy that from?" I can say I've done it my self.

We all have our own preferences mate, If you put a massive wing on yours and thought it looked amazing and you loved it and rest of the world thought it was stupid. You wouldn't care, it's your car and your pride and joy. ( this is regarding the burnt tips ) I have an idea of what I want to go for, but I'd rather see it with my own eyes and see what it looks like before I make the decision if I don't like the looks of it if you get me.

And thank you for the suggestion of the E-TEC paint kit I'll look into that mate. I'm just wanting to go for a black and white theme as my car is white.

Hi mate

Welcome to the forum! Can you post some pictures of your car? I'm into modding myself so I might have a trick or two for you :D

You can check out my Instagram (@DaytonaS3) if you wanna see some pictures. Just ask in here if you wanna know how I did some of the mods so it will be a help for others as well.

Welcome, keep on modding !

Just don’t do anything crazy to spoil the car.
