Any thoughts! In the process of buying a used A3 sline 2017 from Audi dealership, problem im having is there's no service history over the last three years, the car has 18500 on the clock, just wondering if this is normal practice? As this is the second vehicle ive looked at from Audi and found the same issue.Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I would guess that it's been "owned" under one of these PCP schemes and not been serviced. My personal view is that with just 18,500 miles on the clock this is not the end of the World and in any event the servicing over the three years would just have included pollen filter, engine oil (probably just one change) and a brake fluid change. If the price is right, you like the car and the dealer can service these items - I can't see particular problem.

Thanks for the advice, just curious as i test drove another A3 from audi last week with similar long service breaks of 3 years and it had grey smoke coming from the exhaust!

20k service interval maybe, thus no history, just ask them which service system it's been in.

Thanks NHN, going to view and test drive at the weekend, 18,500 wasn't my main concern more the 3 years?
Will ask the question tho.

Audi has elected to initially launch the new A3 with a choice of two engines: a 148bhp 1.5-litre turbo petrol four-pot badged 35 TFSI and the 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel named 35 TDI that's tested here. Both are front-driven, but where the petrol makes use of a six-speed manual gearbox to direct its power to the road, the diesel is mated exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. shareit app vidmate

the new A3 employs a MacPherson strut-type suspension configuration, while the rear is dependent on engine choice. Similar to its Volkswagen Group relatives, the A3 benefits from a more sophisticated multi-link arrangement when producing 148bhp or more, while variants with less make do with a basic torsion beam. Our car had the former.
