Hello everyone,

I recently bought a used 2015 1.4 A3 with good to no options (not even an armrest!), but I'm loving all the retrofitting work. So far things have been going smooth sailing, except for when it comes to enabling car settings in the mmi.

I actually don't know what mmi I have. I searched a lot online and couldn't find anything like it. The 4 switches that I have are "Tone" "Car" "Media" and "Radio". I've seen in various videos and pictures that the "Car" menu shows a nice pic of the car with the various settings next to it - I don't have that. Instead, going to car just shows a list of entries, of which "Car Settings" is. My "Car Settings" only includes the 2 options related to locking.

I tried various codings to enable extra settings in the mmi through vcds and obdeleven, but to no use. (DRL options, window closing, CH/LH...) somehow this menu always stays as is, even if I hard reset the mmi using the 3 button combo (Menu + Knob + Top-Right Option Button).

Also a weird thing that I've noticed is that, setting factory settings through mmi resets my sound options etc - but hard resetting with the 3 button combo somehow restores everything prior to the factory reset! (Sound settings, etc...) Is this supposed to be this way? I thought factory resetting somehow clears the "memory" that the mmi uses, so how is the 3 button combo able to restore the settings prior to the factory reset?

I hope someone sheds some light as I'm very confused!

Hey mate, i have the same MMI on my 2013 sportback. This is audi RMC with very limited functions, i think no bluetoth or navi even possible.
Getting a new MMI system 2g/3g is the best option, very hard to get it working i think and expensive but that is the price you pay.
