What have you done to your 8V today?

Yours is an 8V so no spacers. You don’t need anything other than what’s shown, except maybe a plastic “spudger” to lever up the front edge to remove the existing ones, although in all honestly you can probably just tug the old ones out.

Thanks mate, really appreciate that.
Going to buy that as I really hate those 3 line squirts, why are they so different to the VW, they are the same company

Those jets are standard on the A6. Go figure.

Since going from a Golf to Audi it seems Audi tries to skimp on everything possible where as the Golf comes fully loaded.
I know the Audi are a little more, but compare a A3 to a Golf it just doesnt make sense, they are pretty much the same car but Audi does not even include reverse sensors, they want hundreds more just for a simple function that is standard on every vehicle.

different philosophies, vw are people cars- as the name says... audi is premium vw so no wonder you get less for more

Audi was taken as luxury car in the past and now sone point..
But ppl questioning only because Volkswagen bought it.. But they been standard car makers in past making affordable cars som millions more ppl bought the cars so that's why they got most of the money and ability to buy other companies.. Even Lamborghi is owned by Audi so you see only Lambo and audi parts in Lambo... It's like spider web btw these car industries

Fitted the front mud flaps to my S3. A slightly scary procedure as I don’t have A particularly level or smooth surface to work on, just hoggin over not very compacted soil. So the trolley jack doesn’t travel when lifting, and the axle stand tends to dig in. Only just enough “lift” to free the stand when I’d finished the drivers side! Oh, and why is it necessary to use three different types of fixing into the arch liner eh? Two 8mm push pins, two 4mm Philips head screw in expanding fixings (these I can understand as they replace two similar - albeit push type - ones that you remove first), and. 4mm torx head screw??

on another note, I was looking where to put the axle stand at the rear, and can only see the 4 post lift (I think) rubber block to use, but some caution against this..

wooden board/plank under the axle stand if not on solid ground to stop ot from sinking into ground

Yep, that’s easy enough, even some steel plate. It’s the trolley jack that’s more of a problem, it’s supposed to roll as you lift, to compensate for the arc the lift pad goes through. In my case it just digs in, and tries to drag the car. Not ideal. I could get a larger piece of steel for that I guess (can’t be too thick or I’ll not have clearance to get the jack under the car) Maybe some 6mm mild steel would do.

I used to be able to “borrow” the neighbour’s drive, but they’ve moved away recently and the new people have 4 cars!. I’m pretty sure the people over the road wouldn’t mind if I asked to use theirs though - we’re a small village and have been here 20 years.

I’m paying around £650 for a 1 stage paint correction - mainly minor swirl marks - full ceramic coating (1 coat only of Kenolon) plus Stance Rim Coat treatment and an interior clean. 3-4 days depending on how much time the paint correction takes.

I just sold my refurbished 17” Monzas for £300 with Pirelli’s on! 18’s are much harder to find especially diamond cut if that’s what you’re after. Took me about 6 months and I got very lucky

Try looking for MK5/6 GTI’s which are being broken for parts, it’s how I got mine. Usually pretty well priced too

Got to be 18" would love diamond cut but the wife will probably wreck them anyway so painted silver would be nice

Went to fill up with petrol today for the first time in 4 months due to lockdown.

Fuel filler cap door jammed and wouldn’t open. The emergency manual release red cable in the boot wouldn’t release it either.

Made it to my local Audi dealer with 5 miles range left and abandoned it there as it is booked in for a service this week anyway.

Car only 2 years old so covered by warranty. I know I could have called Audi Assist but thought my approach easier; less likely to be damaged forcing it open and the dealer can have a couple of days lead time to order any parts needed.

Note to self: stop letting fuel get that low before filling up.

I was planning to do an oil change about 3 months ago but the cars hardly moved so I only got around to that today.

Got 10L of premix coolant to go in once I can get it into the garage. I don’t have the tools to do that myself :(

Haha I realised that if ppl leave car sat on one place for long time u will f**k the car faster than with normal use :D u should take it for spin couple of times within those 4 months ....
