I've got an 07 3.0tdi and the egr is blowing where the link pipe comes off the turbo on to the aluminium block on the egr, the treads aren't holding and won't tighten any more so if I have it deleted can I completely remove it providing I link the water pipes back up and blank the link pipe? Cheers

Is it leaking at the pipe from the cooler to the EGR?
If you're going to remove the EGR then you're best to remove the cooler too. Is that what you mean by joining the water hoses?
I'm not too sure of the V6 layout now, my old 2.5 didn't have one. But it can't be too difficult to remove, my 2.0 wasn't.

Hi yes I meant removing the whole lot, theres a pipe coming off the turbo with a 2 bolt flange on it going into the egr assembly. One of the star key studs is stripped in the aluminium part of the egr

I've just looked at a photo of your engine, I wouldn't know where to begin.
There are lots of threads about 3.0 TDI EGR removal/deletion though.

Hi yes just link water pipes and blank each end off turbo end and inlet end not a straight forward job to remove as both inlets/swirl flaps have to be removed to get to all the bolts
Good luck
