Can you please help, what is the part number for the larger screen on the A3/S3?

My S3 is a 2014 and has the smaller 5" screen (I think)

Is the larger 7" screen this part number: 8V0857273

Also, is it plug and play if replaced?

Not sure the part number off the top of my head but search on eBay should give you examples.

MIB1 Standard (5.8”, what you have) cannot “drive” a 7inch screen, need to change the MMI unit to an MIB1 High or MIB2.

Main differences between MIB1 and 2 is Speed, graphics, USB ports, all have 7” screens, most have the ability to have Audi Smartphone Interface.

Like is there any other parts like cables or what if i bought MIB 1 high and the larger screen? Would it just be plug and play

Or

Would it be better going MIB2 and the screen? Will i need any other accessories?
 
it all comes down to how deep are your pockets lol.

I'm not sure it would be worth the cost going to MMI 1 high as you wouldn't get much more functions as compared to the MMI 2 high. The fakra connector to screen needs a slight trim to fit.

I went from my 2015 MMI standard to the facelift MMI 2 high. I needed the 7" screen and went for the full spec hacked MMI 2. If you go for the facelift MMI 2 you also kinda need a facelift controller too. The original does work ok but it misses a few short cuts. I replaced mine with the touch version that you can write on the shuttle jog knob. I also had to add the USB ports and rewire for the android auto

Sounds like what I would like but as you say, how deep are the pockets, not as deep as they were before :(

I would probably rather spend less money on ARB's and suspension

I'm new to the forum. I have just bought an A3 S-line 2015 and looking to upgrade the MMI from a standard 5.3" to a 7". I've been going through a lot of forum posts. So far i'm aware that i'll need to get an MIB2 head unit - (hacked Harman) to get this to work.

Could you guys suggest where I can get this done (i'm based in Edinburgh)? I have seen a company called Vag-Tec sell one that is set to the car's Vin before they send it, has anyone actually used them? I have found a garage that'll remove component protection on the car in Scotland.

Also, if I managed to get a hacked harman, do I have to get a screen & centre console with a specific part number that will only work with the harman unit or can I source for example buy an Alpine screen etc.

If someone could recommend a part numbers that go together to get MIb2 to work in the 2015 A3, that would be amazing.

Would appreciate the help! Cheers

Speak to @DJAlix for installation.

Theres plenty of threads on this already, I've posted all the part numbers before as have other forum uses, so just use the Search engine. You could gather the parts and then have Alix hack, install and code.
