Currently restoring my old 1996 Audi A4 and a few weeks back I stripped the rear brakes as they were shot and the hole lot needed replacing. However I chucked a couple of parts away that Audi no longer sell. So I'm after these washers. The Audi part number is 431501219 and they stopped making the part back in 2018. These are off a front wheel drive car and they were used on the A4 between 1995 & 2001 + a few other models.

Not to bothered about condition if they have a bit of rust on etc as they can be cleaned up and they just get covered in grease.

I just replaced the rear alignment fasteners on my ‘97 Quattro. I was able to buy the new parts, no problem, from Audi so maybe these aren’t correct for your car. See the photos. The one on the left looks almost identical. Do you have a measurement? I’ll see if I can find the part numbers for these.

They are not the same as the brake part unfortunately. I have a bunch of them from my old A6 and they don't fit, the hole is too small and it's too far off centre.

Some parts are still available, but there is a lot and I do mean a lot of parts that Audi have made obsolete for the B5 A4. I've even tried Audi Tradition shop and no luck there.

Ok, the part numbers for these eccentric washers are 8A0 501 385 and 8A0 501 385 A, although they were superseded by WHT 001 656 and WHT 001 974. Not sure that either will work for you but am willing to send one if you'd like.

OK yes, I understand. I just finished weeks of restoration work (tie rod ends, suspension, brakes, axles, seals, etc) on my B5 and parts availability was definitely an issue at times. My local Audi dealer has been really great about finding parts for me around the country. I have ended up buying some parts from Europe on eBay.

I hope you can find that washer!

I'm going for the full nut & bolt restore & removing all the rust. Backend is just about done just waiting on a shed load of parts...

Unfortunately not the suspension cams are not the same, as postage by desertsage the hole is too far off center and the wrong size.

This is the part number I need ( 431501219 ), not the one posted by desertsage which is for the cams.

Yes, that's the one. Cannot even search on description, it just comes up with many ways to wash the car.

does it not come as part of the bearing? looks like a very similar setup to my old Passat B4

No, if you look at item 20 all the lower numbers near the line are included in the bearing kit, all the numbers away from the line are not included so 21, 22, 6 & 8.

Unknown it does not cross reference in ETKA to the A4. This is the list of Audi's that washer was used on.

Now at less than €2 for the part it could be worth the risk, but what is the shipping cost on on that site, as Audi Tradition it's about €30 even for a small order?

Thanks for the help with this chaps it's very much appreciated.:icon thumright:

Thanks, I've ordered a couple if they are the same then great, if not only lost £6. In the mean time I'll keep looking just in case.

Worth a shot. I know your frustation, when I was fixing up my B4 Passat I struggled with alot of things, it took me over a year to find 2 genuine number light bulb housings!

So far I've been lucky and found every part I need, however it has come at a cost on some of the parts as the Audi Tradition site is not cheap and it's been the only place to buy them.

@B5NUT Lee have you tried asking Tom @creweaudiparts in the parts request? It’s surprising what the have sometimes. :friends:

I did try TPS but no luck, it was made obsolete over 2 year ago, and they had no old stock. The VW alternative part arrived today. Will see if they fit. If not will try crewe & other dealers as it was used in Seat & VW

So the VW part does not fit, the ID is too small. Also the washer is very thin must be about half the thickness of the Audi one, kind of looks like it's been stamped out from a penny washer.

So on the plus side I have located 2 genuine Audi washers and hope to get them for the weekend.
