Please help if anyone has had this issue!
My s3 8v fpl is manual with only 15k miles 2016 model,

It’s started making a really annoying noise!
When u start driving the car from cold start out the car in first drive away, the car does it’s normal checks and I get 3 chirp/squeaks!

from then on when pressing the clutch in and then on realising the clutch I get the same sound, it’s slightly delayed on the pedal as in u realise the clutch and then it makes the noise!

garage seem to think it’s a clutch master cylinder that the only thing that it can be, I’ve just had my clutch and thrust bearing changes to the sachs kit ready for stage 1! It was doing it with the standard clutch and now with the new upgraded clutch!

it’s really annoying please help!!

It could be the clutch release bearing. Its incorporated into the concentric slave cylinder as a complete unit. Not cheap to replace due to the box needing to come off. Looking at around £600 + for replacement.

maybe worth trying the first thing they think it is then they are only £40

Oem concentric slave cylinder is about £70. Under the bonnet do you hear a knocking sound that goes when the clutch is depressed?

Seen a Sachs one for £40 on eBay, how can that go on a car that’s done 15k miles!

think Audi will replace it for free

If I'm honest they would chase you out the door. They're not very receptive to parts that can fail as it's a part that can wear out prematurely. No telling how long they should realistically last. Few threads on here about Audi good after sales warranty service on items. Have you had the master cylinder mod with the restrictor valve delete

There is a restrictor that restricts fluid pressure to the CSC. If you have a weak pedal feel, it can improve the feel. It may, if it been done cause problems if it been done by bodging it. It increases the orifice for fluid flow within the master cylinder.

No mate it’s not been done cars always been serviced at Audi main dealer,

I put the car in the weekend just gone for the sachs upgraded clutch and thrust bearing, as I’ve read loads about the standard clutches are like chocolate, so I thought I’d just upgrade it get it mapped and it’s done then first as last!

Can you test the components with vag com to see wat it is that’s making the noise then ?

did the audi main dealer fit your sachs kit?

I was always led to believe Audi would only ever fit oem equipment to their cars. Be interesting to know. Certainly my local Audi wouldn't.

No mate a local garage called r-tec in Swansea fitted it last weekend,

finding the clutch pedal to be heavier than I thought it would be

Sachs are renowned for being heavy. I had one prior to my RTS. These have a more oem feel.

Do you have a video or sound clip of the noise?

Rts I’ve not heard of them clutches mate I did look at what people were using prior to purchasing the Sachs one, wish I’d known that now I’d have bought that rts one gutted

I’ll get one Tomorrow mate for you, I’ve got to get it sorted it’s honestly eating away at me make me not want to drive the car

Enough torque for stage 2

To late now the Sachs is in! Never mind guess I’ll get used to it

I've got the same as you, and mine has no problems with 390lbs foot torque (probably more at times since the RR was a 25C hot summers day)

Right, be prepared for Audi to tell you to get lost then with anything clutch related (and possibly more). Hope they don't but I suspect they will. My "approved" warranty became effectively null and void for me as soon as I had the clutch and intercooler upgrade done elsewhere.

I’m not taking it to Audi they charge me the Earth! My mate got a vag com programme to check the 2 cylinder and other components mentioned! I’m hoping it’s one of them and get it sorted

I’ve had this from the day I put my Sachs 4 paddle sinted clutch in and it’s been fine for years.

I’ve recoded a sound clip what’s the best site to use to upload it ?

You got a chirp/ squeak sound ?

Yip a very slight chirp on engagement only noticeable in first and second really as it’s that minor.

I’ve ran like this for 20k just forgot about it and I’ve had no issues.

Had the car from new and changed the clutch at 8k.

Mine has that chirp too, did you remove the restrictor from yours ?

Yeah I did, that was one of my first mods when I got it hahaha.
I sometimes get a little kind of rattle from mine sometimes when pulling away ? I thought it may have been because of the restrictor. Did you use the full Sachs kit or just the clutch ?

Just the clutch as the flywheel was sound.

Sorry yeah I changed them, it was the full kit without the fly.

Handles stage 3 well hahaha
