As per title really, what’s the schedule on changing the cam belt ? 2004 1.9 tdi 130
It’s coming up to four years since the last change and I’ve only done 13k

I believe after 2003 ish you can leave them to 80k (previously 60k for earlier ones). But yes, 4 years regardless of mileage is the catch. Assuming the 13k you've done has been short journeys and stop/start town driving then it puts more strain on the belt than cruising on motorways obviously. Have you popped the cover off to have a look at it, just out of curiosity?

50K or 6 years has always been my rule of foot for VAG cars from that era. VW Audi, Seat & Skoda often quoted different intervals for the same engine. Skoda were 40k or 4 years which they claimed was due to water pump impellor failure, which was common with the plastic impellor, but not the metal versions.

So are you saying my engine is different Paul ? Entered my reg no in auto data and it says five years or 80k whichever comes first

Well I know identical PD 130 engines from the different VAG manufacturers have been given different cambelt service intervals. As I said having owned several PD130 VAG cars (8 in total) & I have always stuck to 60k or 5yrs regardless.

I was confused with this too, as I had a mk4 2002 golf 130pd & the schedule (well the one I went with) was 4 years/40k miles. however the audi pd130 (avf) seemed to be 5 years /60k miles. so I went with that
