Hi guys.

I have an audi a5 tfsi 2009 2.0lt 220bhp. It is a full upside down triangle radiator grille. Im trying hard to look foe a total full honeycomb radiator grille for it but strugling really hard to find a debadged full honeycombe one on the internet. Can anyone please give me some direction on a UK site to buy direct as its getting me down and been looking for the past 3 weeks.

Facing a similar struggle for my B8.5 S5

Best I could find was on amazon from this seller.

Put 'audi s5 grill kimiss' into amazon search. For some reason the link url won't work here

Strangely the B8.5 is cheaper.

Thanks cadguy...

After looking and extensive looking i managed to go to ebay and found a company that does the a5 b8 honeycomeb grill without number plate holder ect.. and belive it or not it only cost me £109.99

They are also a company in uk they are called FAST LANE STYLING based in Romford. Obviously i ordered mine and it came today . Thanks guys . Now gotta find out if i want full coilovers or just go for springs only "eibachs". What do you think.

Cadguy

Yeah the link you gave me was for the wrong style .. look at my fog light grille its the b8 2009/10 model a5 tfsi. So that fog grille wont fit mate.. this is wat im saying i cant find that model for the car..

As for the number plate iv ordered a self adisive reflective number plate found on ebay.

Iv sent the picture on here. Only a 10er hun.

Small request cos I'm gonna pull the trigger on same supplier. Can you tell me how thick the mesh is near the number plate area (assuming it's not uniform all over)? I'm looking into number plate mounting solutions.

Thanks

Hey cadey

So the grille is round just over quarter inch thick. The grille i brought comes with all the fitmants aswell i just choose not to fit the nunber plate with the pins on it. Lol. If you buy from FAST LANES STYLING where i brought mine it will already be fitted with the number plate mount already on and its up to you if you want it on.. its just screwed on with 2 honeycombe screw bolts that you unscrew at the back. When my car comes back from the body shop place il take a close up picture of the grille matey.

Thx, much appreciated. I'm aware it come with the frame mount, but I'm looking into a frameless mount option.

What are you getting done at the shop?

Yeah if you go with this company you will have the option as standard on your grille.

Im having the 2 dents taken off the car and every stone chip there is. Then re sprayes to original colour again. Gonna wrap the roof for panoramic effect in a month.. but the car has been in the work shop for 2 weeks now lol. I aint in no rush. Plus its had a new steering rack, new engine mount, and new upper arms at the front of the car..new 20/20 bulbs for the car all round.. so basically i want the car mechanically feeling solid and no problems at body work being spot on before i start all the fun bits upgraded exhaust system, lowering etc. Thats my aim babe

Look forward to seeing it. What was the original colour? Did you make a decision on springs only or coilovers?

Yeah will do.. nah i kept it the same colour. The colour is to nice lol.

And with the lowering im going to keep it springs only..i was going to go coilovers but i wount be tracking it etc so no point buying them.. i went with eibach springs on the black audi so il do eibach pros again.. the audi a5 i have now already has a sport lowering system as standard in place so i will need to check with eibach to see if it will lower abit more if it dont then il go h and r for the springs.

What have you done with yours

Not much so far, just a Front strut bar fitted.

But plans are:
  • Modified air intake
  • 82mm TB (brought)
  • Ported SC
  • Uprated HX
  • 206mm Crank Pulley (brought)
  • ECU & TCU Remaps
  • Cat-back Exhaust
  • BBK front and rear
  • Drivetrain mount inserts
  • Rear ARB (brought)
  • Front and rear ARB endlinks (brought)
  • 034 X-brace (brought)
  • Coilovers (probably Ohlins Road & Track)
  • Rear Diffuser (undecided if I wanna do front splitter and boot spoiler too)
and maybe some other bits and pieces but that's the main list keeping me busy during lockdown.

Planning on hitting the Nurburgring and maybe some UK tracks.

All sounds great..

1 question though hun!! Wouldnt it be better to just go for a full stainless steel performance exhaust system. Thats what im doing.. had it on the other audi and was such a diffrence mate?

Theres my baby lol. Went to see it today

The bumpers are being sprayed in another room. Lol

Can't wait to see the fresh paint finished.

The headers and cat location on the S5 is a pain to say the least.

Who done your custom exhaust?

Yeah cant wait to see the finish though big time..

Essex elite did the last one but they have shut down so im gonna have to do some good deep research for this a5 i now have.. gonna do it near my home town this time.near maidstone if i can but a proper performance place though..

Do you have pictures of your s5

Woooow shes beautiful. I love them lights..

Yeah the longlife exhaust systems have good reviews. Theres a long life in sittingbourne that do the systems there. I must admit i was looking at longlife too.

Hey cadguy..

Woundering if you could help... as i said before i have recently changed the steering rack as when the steering wheel was turned i would get a big vibration from it. However now i have the car back today i still have thw clonking noise coming from the front when i only turn left or right. Iv also had the upper arms done aswell and engine mount..

I been reading up tie rods and the symptom of the noking npise states it.. do you have any ideas mate.. its geeting me down now as i only got the car back today after the respray etc.. . Now i have this to sort out first.. bit the clonking/knocking noise is getting worse.... it was knocking before the steering rack was replaced also. Obviously wasnt the same issue as the vibration.. atlease the main expensive part has been changed though...

All the time when turning into corners, junctions, round abouts.

Nah not doing any more mods now till this last mechanical piece has been done then i know mechanically the car is sound...

Yeah il pop the pics up tomoz mate. Got the new fog light grilles on now aswell so all grilles are matching. Looks evil lol..

My next door neighbour just now said it may possibley be the intermediate steering shaft knuckles on either end.. he said that the steering rack is done its most possibley that.. so im gonna get a wheel balanced out tomoz as i noticed that the driver front new alloy has no weights on it so this might be the shacking alittle bit i get over 75-85mph. All these shixy little bits are holding me back to enjoy my baby now.

Hi TX
So at present due to the vibration and the turning the steering wheel knocking noise i have changed the following and still have these 2 big issues..
Front top mounts .. done
Steering rack and tie rod... done
Tie rod ends... done
Engine mount... done
Front top wheel arms.. done

Still have the issues..
I have just ordered a new cv joint wheel side and gonna get this fitted this week hopefully. It is now starting to pxxx me off... i am starting to throw money at the car when i wanna start enjoying it again. Lets see if it is the cv joint that is clunking when turning full lock or just turning either right or left.. i will let you know.
