A4 drivers seat

I have had issues with my Drivers seat on my A4 Convertable, I lost all controls and through expensive process of elimination new switch, second hand control boards, fuses and weeks of trying to find parts I finally fitted everything back together, I have all functions working again EXCEPT the seat goes back and fourth about 3 inches I can't even get into the car to drive it
Does this have to be coded to the car ? any idea what the codes might be ? I don't have. VCDS or any idea what a MMI is
Total novice and skint too after this seat

Any help would be appreciated

You local to Walsall ? I am Looking for someone to plug it in and check it, I can't drive it as I don't fit in the seat at the moment I don't mind paying a reasonable fee
