My s3 v6 build

Anyone know what the torque is for the cover plate bolts?, I’ve bought another copy of elsawin manual and it just doesn’t complete the download

Should the Propshaft doughnut be changed whilst I have access to it?

Il see if I can get one £108 from audi but don’t have any instock tps was showing they had the bolts for the engine mount but couldn’t find them all audi/vw round here are closed but crewe audi (parts request)have sorted me out so a trip to Crewe tomorrow and I’m good to go

Picked up today
New Lh driveshaft
New rh driveshaft (on order)
2 new track rod ends
2x new drop links
2x new ball joints (on order)

anyone know what size the big bolt is on the end of the drive shaft?

anyone had issues with gsf Propshaft doughnut or is it one of them parts that you should stick with oem?

Well it’s in! I left the transfer box off as there’s no bolts Delivered yet, but I’m changing the drive shafts anyway so should’ve easy enough to get in in I hope

Just waiting on a 12 point socket so I can get the passenger drive shaft off and fit everything in that arch so that wheel
Won’t need to come of till I bleed the brackets
Driver side shaft no coming till Wednesday so will tackle the new rear brakes tomorrow,

Don't forget when you put the front clip back on with the fan pack to sort the aircon pipe out else it will get cut through like mine did

That’s definitely not an issue anytime soon haha, will get the bits in the behind the wheels done and look at wiring don’t want to struggle for access I’d only end up pulling it off again but it is something that has stuck in my mind from your thread

Is it worth filling the engine with oil now and turning it over by hand every now and than ? Don’t want to cause issues with it being sat empty?

Did you use assembly lube putting it together?

Should be fine then mate as long as all the inlet/ex ports and plug holes are covered to stop any ingress to the engine

<tuffty/>

Got to drop inlet manifold of a welders tomorrow but will tap up all the holes on the block tonight, waiting on the hoses on back order for over 3 weeks driving me made at least it will give me time to figure what god where

Tried to get some new wiper arms today they’re no longer available, man it getting hard to get original
Body parts now instead of buying 2nd hand, still waiting on the order from tps from over a month ago so have cancelled it and have to look elsewhere

Should I be filling the gearbox to the top with oil? Or is there a level Mark it should be at?

Surely it should be a specific amount of litres..as apposed to just going to the top. What gearbox is it I'll have a quick check online

Semi productive day managed to get the transfer box fitted and thought I’d clear out the car and make a start on the andmac sub and battery relocation only had a few hours spare managed to get the sub and amp fitted just need to tackle the wiring to the original connector block

Should the gear box have a cover here noticed there wasn’t one in the old one either

You could always use the starter motor to cover that hole up mate ;)

question for @<tuffty/> I’m getting a list of hoses I need and on the diagram the t piece of item 20 runs up to item 28 which is the dsg oil
Cooler, where does this go if we’ve not got that cooler, could I use that to
Feed the 13 row oil cooler I’ve bought at some point ? Or is using a sandwich plate better

Can't feed an aftermarket oil cooler with water dude... you plumb it in with a sandwhich plate and the air cools the oil
