tqs budget track day car

Yep used b6 ones
I reckon it pushed the wheels out 10mm and lowered it 20 mm

I"ve got B6 upright"s on mine, it"s lowered it 10 to 15mm but not pushed the wheels out. Have you got two sets of mounting holes for the control arms on the subframe.

the shock mount on the B6 control arms is in a different place which probably offsets the difference in the upright, but they dont fit the B5 shocks.

Yes the arms are mounted in the correct holes
The diameter of the shock mount hole was the same so transfered the poly bush from the b5 arm

Anyway it went straight through its mot last fri and ive got a week off soon so ill give it a go round oulton park and see what its like

Lockdown update
Still got car and I've collected a few parts so this seemed the perfect time to fit them

K04 064, still got mine in the shed. Maybe I should get it fitted.
Can I have some details on downpipe, oil lines etc.

K04 064 fitted
Managed to find one on eBay for reasonable money, then ordered a load of bits from China before covid started
Went with the polish mounting kit purely for the cost, works but a few parts needed slight modification to fit perfectly

Also a couple of interior mods

Aem afr gauge, and Chinese egt gauge placed where vents used to live, had dash out to replace matrix so removed the pipework for the heater
Also wired electric fan directly and put switch in
Also previously added a quick release boss for the wheel

I'd already modified a decat pipe to fit my homemade downpipe with a clamp for the old turbo and it was pretty close to the correct place so it was a case of grinding old flange of the decat and twisting an tacking the new flange untill I was sure it would fit then welding it all together

Old oil lines fit fine, I bent feed line to fit around front of the engine as it's going to be cooler than routed above the turbo
Return pipe fits fine

Coolant line needs a longer hose but it's push on so easy. The banjo connector to the block fits better if you shorten the clamp end (the mounts I used means turbo fits direct to the block the other type acts as a spacer so hose probably doesn't need shortening)

The support mount need completely grinding off the turbo so does one of the exhaust mounting flanges

So far tuning consists of 3" maf housing and saab injectors so need to so some more research probably go down the A3 ecu route, also because I added a pipe for the diverter valve the air filter has ended up behind the bumper grill which is fine for track but not ideal for normal driving

Intercooler pipework I chopped up original and made work with just some straight silicone joiners and a single 90° bend added

I've added a support on the cold side for the turbo but I still need to knock something up to support the other side

So just a silicone pipe off the turbo cold side outlet. Are you still running the electric fan behind the radiator, mine's still got the air con so I think I'd be limited for space.

Search for a k04 muffler delete
This bolts in place of the standard outlet and means you can add a silicone hose
Got mine complete with hose from Ali express for about 35 posted

Still got fan, on a switch so I can turn it on from inside car. It is close but you can shave a bit off the fan mounting arm, run hose parallel to the arm and if it did touch the silicone hose would just absorb it and not hit fan blades

Had a go at flocking the dash
Came out ok but a few bits look a bit shabby.
This was the 3rd attempt, you add the material and it looks amazing. Then wait for it to set and most of it falls off

Looks grey in photos, but it's actually jet black and sparkly in the sun

Been on Ali express again, got the white tyre letters and something more practical.
Some webbing for a jeep that I've made into a partition, put some rivnuts in and screwed it in place

Decided I wanted a different look. More race car than s4 rep
Bought a reiger spoiler stw/btcc style from germany and a cheap front bumper on eBay.
The spoiler is designed for the pre-facelift bumper but with a bit of cutting I managed to get it to fit
Rattle canned the bumper and it turned out ok ish
Didn't want fogs but they mount the trims so smashed the glass and removed reflectors and chopped them up
I had already converted the side mounting to quick release on the s4 bumper so swapped these over.
Next job will be chassis mount a splitter

Also added lettering to the rest of the tyres and painted all the wheels so I'm running 9" wide all round

I've wanted a functional splitter for a while, so I've decided to make one

Had some plywood laying around so cut out the shape, then had a go at covering with fibreglass, it came out better than I expected so I painted it with gloss black to finish it off

I need it to be removable easily as I have no clearance to get on my drive and be fitted/removed without jacking the car up

So I got some more quick release fixings and some eBay splitter struts
With the original intercooler tube redundant thanks to the fmic I've drilled some holes and inserted some threaded tube that the q/r fixing will screw into
The rods for the front I had to mod some larger bolts so I could mount into the crash bar through the bumper
Seems to work I can stand on the splitter an it takes my weight
