They make very little difference unless you track the car. You could try a PCV delete but it sometimes causes idle / part throttle issues. Best bet is to put the revised PCV on and leave it at that.

I want it to avoid oil vapor from manifold

As above. 2009 onwards 2.0TSI engines only. Also known as the E888 design engine (oil filter is on top left of engine) These are direct injection which means injectors spray fuel after the inlet valves straight into the combustion chamber. Oil and carbon build up on the valves, as there is no fuel to give washing effect on the inlet area. This is true of all direct injection engines, some severe and some marginally. Catch cans will help in most circumstances.

Pretty much all petrol engines in the 8p are direct injection, except the 1.6 non fsi.
The earlier 2.0s (Inc the non turbo) are direct injection. So are the 1.4 and 1.2

i've read PCV delete isn't a wise option and that a catch can isn't really necessary. I'd save your money and invest it into something else as it has "minimal" effect on the cars performance. If you're concerned about the carbon build up, there's some performance shops that do head blasting to remove the buildup.

I have the same question. I have a 2006 A3 8P with the 2.0l Turbo and FWD. Looking to prolong the life and reduce the carbon deposits on my valves. Had them cleaned once. 220k kms. So many catch cans to choose and the guy at Engineering Explained on YT suggest that the "quality/price" doesn't really matter???? Black Forest Industries, 034 parts, and a couple of others are very expensive compared to the stuff on Amazon. I'm in Canada. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

And.... I'm curious about how to reduce the "feeling of understeer" when getting into a corner. I've installed H&R lowering springs. Any thoughts?
