2015 1.4tfsi 19500 miles, car booked in for timing belt replacement as I was told by Audi ,due to the current situation my local dealership are not giving out loan cars , will not lift the car and will not allow me to wait on the car in their showroom, I live over 70 miles away so at this moment in time it is not practical to leave the car with the dealership. I told them I would re book the car in when it is practical, hopefully soon, only to be told that if the belt breaks Audi will not stand over it. All I want to know is would it be safe to use the car for a couple of months. Incidentally the handbook states belt replacement at 1333000 with no time limit, think that milage is a bit much

Doubtful Audi would stand good anyway unless you had extended warranty , you are correct about the mileage however this engine was a new design in 2013 , somewhere along the road Audi have decided whether due to failures or info from the belt manufacturers to decrease the mileage and stipulate a timescale , find a good indi also don't get sucked into " you need a water pump" it's on the other side of the engine.

I have an extended warranty with Audi, it was the person that sold it to me later to.d me that if the belt broke Audi UK would not stand over it

I'd contact them again and advise they reconsider. You have made a reasonable attempt to honour a service and maintenance shedule that they have changed the conditions of.

I tried to talk to them, but all I got was ,if anything happens to the belt even if you do book it in for a later date, Audi UK would not be held responsible we are operational, the service is here for you to avail off, how you get back home and then collect the car ( a round trip of 150 miles) is not our problem.

I’d really consider taking car else where and possibly save some money?
