i was sorta thinking the same; sounds nice, but doesn't have that kick in the vids i have found. still a option tho if zinram are gonna be **** on customer relations side of stuff.
refitted the timing belt [ retarded timing, 1 tooth off] water pump, tentioner [ what a little git to recompress with no vice!!] all dust covers, engine mounts, wheel liner and other plastic bits underneath, crank pulley, aux belt and tentioner, evap-charcoal canister, rad header tank, power steering fluid res, charge pipe, brake booster hose and most the little bits that need doing.
just got a coolant flange on order, a set of plugs to grab, oil and a filter and antifreeze and i *hope* to be running for next weekend.
nice to see the car sat back on the floor after weeks off it
That is completely crazy glued filters together cabin filter does look original though best get that cambelt done ASAP. The air filter will not be working correctly as it's not sealed at the edges so possibly more cleaning to do in the intake manifold areaSo today i decided to give some attention to my recently acquired Agu
That is the air filter or should i say air filters that came out of the airbox, these things are so cheap yet the previous owner decided to glue 2 totally different air filters together, I mean WTF

and the cabin filter has also never been replaced, thats the original 20 year old audi filter that was in there.

i must still do the mechanical stuff like the spark plugs, oil change, oil and fuel filter but im already afraid of what im going to find. i have a sneaky suspicion that the cambelt is probably also the original audi part on there from the year 2000

Well done my friend keep up the good workHubs, bearings, pads, discs, ball joints and new abs sensors all fitted and done car drives amazing for the 2 mile test run afterwards. Just need to get tracking done all round now and I'll be happy. With regards to abs sensors in my thread the one that broke was from gsf and was really hard to try and put in. Ended up getting an eicher one from euros and it fit in straight away no fading about. Just incase anyone needs to change abs sensors
I think you’ve won car with most neglect of the year mate. Truly shocking, can’t say I’ve ever seen that before. Makes you wonder what other gremlins you’ll end up finding! The car can only get better with your ownership that’s for sure

Think you quoted the wrong post bro..put nah they never came separate. And got them all pressed togetherDid the Hubs come With Bearings?
Lol..easy enough mistake. See my nephew has a newer shape fr and said his hub kit came with wheel bearings.Haha yeah I did
You don't even see it on mine what with the inlet and covers lol
It will look good as its a simplistic cover I would like to see it when its done @S3AMJ
Would be pointless me changing the rocker cover over if I was to just cover it all I’m gonna still out the coil pack holes a little this weekend and get it sent off to be powder coated on Monday. Fit it next weekend.

personally i think the ALT engine cover looks much better than the AGN Cover that everyone is going for
Yeah but does that bolt to our heads? I’ve looked into this rocker cover before and I can’t see how it would with work with VVT. Or the depth to cover the cams, this is for a 2.0 na engine.

they vvt would be an issue but on APY engines it shouldnt be an ISSUE, afaik the ALT is just a stroked 1.8 like an ADR in the A4's, it's still a 4 cylinder 5 valve engine, and i doubt audi would have gone and specially created that just for the b6 A4's.
From what I’ve seen side to side the ALT head cams sit flush to the top, so the ALT rocker cover sits flat. Our 1.8 heads are different in that respect, our cams are pronounced so the ALT cover wouldn’t fit.
You could swap the heads entirely.... I guess. That said If that was something that could easily be done then everyone would be doing it or using the 2.0 block if they were interchangeable.

06A (out of a transverse 1.8T, aka Mk4 VWs & mk1 TT)
06B (out of our cars)
Differences:
06A block has a smaller thermostat bore. I had to sand the lip off of the B6 A4 thermostat housing.
06B block has a shorter oil pump tube- direct swap though.
06B has a different oil pan due to B6 subframe- direct swap again. (this one was obvious)
They look fantastic @S3AMJ
