Hi,

So I’ve ordered black Audi rings and RS3 badges for both the front and rear of the car. However, when I’ve come to try and install the front grill RS3 badge. I haven’t a clue how to get the badge off without breaking anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Sam.

I managed to swap mine out with a screwdriver. Carefully. Levered out the old badge and I recall it was quite easy Vs other cars. Best buy a plastic lever tho and then no risk of damaging nearby plastic bits.

Rear was a hassle. Hairdryer and dental floss all the way.

How though mate haha!? My fingers are in bits trying to pry it off and it wouldn’t budge at all. Felt like I was definitely going to break the grill! It looks like what the badge is mounted on, goes right around the grill? I do have trim tools but I don’t know what part to try and lever if you know what I mean!?
Yeah the rear will be a lot easier!!

Loads of videos on YouTube how to do it. It’s very simple to do

Here are the methods if they help at all Naylor! Looks like you need to gently pull the Blue tabs to the exterior of the car both sides (Arrows in picture look to be the wrong way rounf) and hopefully it should let go! Dont drop the backing plate that holds the badge As it will fall into the bottom of the bumper!!

Sorry ignore me. Was talking about the Audi rings, not the rs3 badge. Mine was debated from day 0 so I have no idea. Good luck and share pics!

I’ve recently replaced my badges for black, the front RS3 grill badge was a b*tch to remove!

It is just held on with the end clips that need to be pressed inwards from the backing plate from memory, very fiddly but used a flat head screwdriver wrapped in a cloth and got there in the end, fitting the new one took seconds!

The rear badges just took time with the good old hair dryer for heat, lots of dental floss and patience!

Yeah my fingers are still in bits on the ends from pushing and pulling it last night haha! No joy at all with it though. There’s a small backing plate though isn’t there?

So when looking directly at the badge the push the tabs inwards to each other? How did you even get a screwdriver in there haha!? Yeah it will be a piece of cake putting in back on haha, just simply push it on and it’ll clip in!

Yeah, I have a friend doing mine who is very handy with bits like that anyway! So the rear will be easy anyway haha.

Yes mate, there’s a backing plate which you need to push the tabs inwards and towards themselves if that makes sense, I think I just used a careful bit of force with the screwdriver on one tab and finally got one side out, it was a nightmare though!!

Haha I think it makes sense!? So as you’re looking at it, push them inwards towards each other and pull from the backing plate? I know it really is a nightmare!!

I used a flat bladed screwdriver on the 3 side of the badge, prised the backing clip off that side only. The clip is fairly soft plastic from memory, I then eased the whole lot out with the lhs still clipped in. A new backing clip was about 3 quid from Audi so I got a back up just in case, but the old one went back on fine.

Is there a difference in front grill badge and rings for an Audi Rs3 2016, and 2017 facelift and onwards? What to look out for? I have a 2016. RS3, and was thinking of black badging the whole car, plus the black rings front and back. I don't know if these would fit for the front:

I know this would fit the back of the car:

I am going to have go at this tomorrow as I want to debadge my RS3. I found this if it helps anyone
