Slightly long story. My avant boot lid wasn’t going up high enough, resulting in a banged head. Upon investigation I found the wrong gas struts had been installed, they were too short and had the wrong force.
I ordered the correct ones and installed them. Simple enough.
Now the boot closes but I need to give it a little push when the boot reaches the bottom for the electronic closer to grab it. It needs to either go a little further down or drop with a bit more force.

Anyone got any ideas? Is there any way to adjust it?

thanks!

There should two rubber bungs (one on each side of the boot sides) which you can put a slim flathead/Allen Key/hex driver in to lower or raise them.

Lowering them means your tailgate should close a little tighter, therefore allowing your latches to meet.

A mechanic did it to mine when I realised my boot shut lines didn't meet perfectly... I didn't see him do it though unfortunately.

It seems to have done the job. It wasn’t quite as you described, you have to turn the slim wide plastic nut beneath the rubber bung. I used an adjustable spinner and mole grips (not ideal). Photo attached.

I wouldn’t have spotted it without your mention @Duck A4 so thanks again!

I’m missing one of these and mine shuts ok. Seems to open fully and shake the tailgate with the force mind but it’s working for now!
