Evening.
So, today I had the warning for low tyre pressure. All tyres look fine...is there a way to find out which one it considers low?
It just comes up with check tyre pressures? Doesn’t really help

I had this once, all tyres looked fine. I checked them with a pressure gauge too and all ok, so I just stored the pressures in the MMI and all was well again. I think it might just want them storing from time to time.

If you lose pressure in a particular wheel it will tell you, had that too once, offside rear had lost about 8psi with a slow puncture.

I’ve only had it say that when I switched between summer and winter wheels. It recognised immediately but I just checked the pressures and stored things and it was fine.

As said, it’s more normal for there to be a single puncture in which case it’ll tell you the wheel that’s low.

Thanks guys.
The tyres didn’t look low, I’m going to the garage to check first thing this morning.
Will see what happens from there.

I get this regularly on my B9 S4. It really irks me that on a £55K car, its got passive TPMS (works on rotational performance of the wheel) that regularly gives out false indicators. Passive TPMS is cheap, it costs nothing - its just software . Its always the same front left, and every time I check, its identical to what it was weeks before... sometimes its the check all tyres. Its such a pain.
On my former BMW's, had proper active TMPS (with sensor inside the rim).
Does anyone know if the new S4 has proper TPMS ?

I’d agree. This being my first Audi, I’ve noticed the same features on my Focus and Qashqai before that were so much better. Same with the sat nav and other general features and interfaces.
Obviously none drive as well or have the comfort and refinement of the Audi. I was surprised though. I don’t even have hill start assist

Only ever had this once come up after I forgot to reset it after having new tyres fitted. It's not common and no less sophisticated than the version that was fitted to my mondeo.
Jefaz07 you do have basic hill start, similar to what is standard on a ford:

Thanks mate, I can honestly say I’ve never noticed it. I guess in the other vehicles there was a symbol on the dash that indicated it had activated and maybe that’s why I’ve noticed. I also read some say it was an extra...at £75. Anyway, this morning I’m off to find a hill (after I’ve been to check my tyres)

I think there are some sort of pressure sensors in the wheels. The message showed up once when I switched from winter to summer wheels. It appeared as soon as I switched on the ignition without driving a single meter. The winter wheels are audi original from B8 and the summer ones came with the car.

I’ve checked the pressures. Rear were fine.

O/S Front 4psi Down
N/S Front 2psi Down
These tyres are nearly at end of life anyway. The appear to be the original conti 6
So decisions what to put on next

So just tried. I don’t have bill start assist. As soon as I release the brake on a hill, it immediately starts to roll back.

@jefaz07 if you have Hill Hold Assist you will have the on/ off button next to the parking brake button.

From one of your earlier posts you referred to the HHA switch being under the air con panel. I think you are confusing the stop/start on/off as HHA. The symbols on the switches are very similar.

I don’t have a button next to the brake. So nope, don’t have it. Not the end of the world but strange.

Hi
On my A6 C8, do these sensors on the front wheel indicate that my car has direct TPMS rather than passive system? If so, why don't i see the same sensors on the rear wheels?
Cheers

That's the brake fluid pipe and bleed nipple for the brakes.

I think the alert comes up for 4 0r 5 psi so there's your answer. :grinning:

Cheers, so looks like my A6 also has the indirect TMPS like the A4. Out of interest what does the sensor on the tyre look like for the direct TPMS?

I have had this before without a pressure issue. Seems to be if I start the car and move off too quickly. It happens if I start the car and immediately drive. Just stop, switch off the engine and start again, clears it. Not great but seemingly a software fault.
